Works great so far, but why an Apple Maps link?

I'm looking for an app that I can use to send out my current location to those I choose, only when I choose. This app seems to be exactly what I'm looking for. And when I start it, it appears to know which map app I last used (Google vs Apple) and showed me my location using that app. Perfect. But then it generates an Apple Maps link even though it's showing me my location in Google Maps. No, not good. Come on, everyone knows Apple Maps is substandard. Why would this app send my location using a substandard mapping app? I'll keep looking.
