I have never seen an app that looks like it had less effort put into creating it than this one. It looks like someone put it together in an afternoon using an Apps for Dummies book. The only interface is a button that lets you type or paste in the full address for a document. If you're in landscape mode when you do that, the keyboard comes is sideways (it's still in portrait mode while the rest of the app is landscaped). Or you can transfer a document from elsewhere using "Open in..." But there's no way to browse to a document, or use Dropbox or iCloud or anything like that. When viewing a PDF, all you can do is scroll and zoom. There's no search, no markup, no way to view multiple pages at once. No instructions or help is available. And when things don't work, you get a not-so-helpful message like "Error 9006". If you're considering FileOpen DRM with an eye towards iPad use, I suggest looking at another DRM option.

I got this app in the hope I would be able to read a file that was encrypted with FileOpen, but I never managed to get it open. I contacted customer service several times, got one response, but nothing ever came of it. If you run into a DRM file that uses FileOpen, stay away from it if you think you would like to read it on your iPad! It won't work and there won't be anyone to help you.

No support, No FAQS, PASSED PROBLEMS OFF TO THE PUBLISHER WHEN EMAILED. THINK TWICE BEFORE YOU USE FILEOPEN TO SECURE YOUR PUBLICATIONS I WILL NEVER BUY ANY PUBLICATION SECURED BY FILEOPEN AGAIN. I AM GOING TO ASK FOR A REFUND ON THE PUBLICATION I DID BUY.

This "app" (and I am being generous by calling it an app) is a waste of the drive space it is stored on. No help, no instructions, no ability to open from cloud drives, no use at all. Whomever green-lighted this app to be released should be permanently banned from the IT industry as a whole. Software like this inspires legions of crackers to break the encryption so the rest of us can read documents in peace rather than suffer through this farce of a program. FOR SHAME!!

I am very confused. I tried using this "tool" to open an encrypted PDF. Six times. All six times it got to 75% and stopped. No direction. No error message. Nothing. It just stopped. I really don't get it. Awful. No PDF for me I guess. No support for this piece of trash for them. Fix your mess.

I had to use FileOpen to read an encrypted document. I tried to do it on iPad, Mac OS X, and even Linux. I tried to open my document and the installcomplete.pdf that is linked from the FileOpen website. Nothing worked even though the files download and look like legitimate PDF files to other viewers. Maybe it's Windows only?

What an utter, thorough piece of trash software

Every time the app is updated, encrypted documents that were previously able to be opened by the app would stop working. Then it's a huge pain to have my accces re-registered. Again, a piece of utter trash of software with no redeeming quality whatsoever. If case my review is ambiguous, let me make it clear again: a total piece of trash software.
