What A fun game/book!

What a great idea! Take the old choose your adventure books from our youth and mix in DnD style combat (and some zombies for good measure). This is basically an Rpg. So you read through the story. Then along the way you'll find items (such as health kits) and weapons. Occasionally you encounter zombies or other bad guys that you'll need to fight. The game uses the stats of the weapon you have and dice rolls to decide combat.

Great! So much fun— Even in groups!

This game is designed to be played solo, but we were enjoying mapping out our adventure and reading aloud together in a group of three (with one designated hero at a time and sometimes switching roles after a failure). The writing and unique social opportunities are interesting enough for even non-participants to want to listen in and cheer on the successes of of the protagonist. If you want to play this game socially, I recommend having one person read, one person make decisions, and another person draw a map. The only problem is that the story has a number of typos and syntax errors. It could use a good edit, but the fun is not dampened by the mistakes. I am so glad we got this game!

Does not disappoint

Great addition. Can't wait for more.

Not worth the high price

Well coded & the graphic design looks great. I just don't think the actual story is well-written or engaging enough, it's comes off like a typical amateur fan fiction novel.

Not as good as the last 3 or 4 books
Andrieux

Not enough dice rolls to determine fate. Feels way too linear to me.

Very good

Nice game, love the zombie style. Can't wait for more great games.

Very disappointing

I liked these kinds of books when I was 12, but I think that's because I cheated. This is the second e-version of an FF book I played, and the first was even worse. Won't be playing any more.

My first gamebook
febriew

I didn't grow up in the 80s period, so this is my first dip on the fighting fantasy, btw im 27 so i spent my youth on 90s:p Maybe this is a lil bit bias because i really love the genre I already spent my money on blood of the zombis, house of hell and trial of the clones, until now i enjoy all off them and the replayability are quite long. I havent finished all of them I dunno about the total playing time for each gamebook, but for me it's totaly worth it , maybe you could decrease the price a lil bit 4.99 is perfect on my opinion :) Please keep releasing the fighting fantasy series i'll buy all of them :D The extra on the house of zombies is great Maybe you could make extra for every release of ff Maybe abackstory, the making ,or stuff like that Totally instabuy :D

Not the best fighting adventure book
Xerxes1811

I love these kinds of fighting adventure books, so I'm not a hater, but this book had some problems. I enjoyed the first half of the book a lot, but then about half way through the book changed, it went form a choose your path type of book to " Choose our path or die." I compare these types of books to the fantastic Lone Wolf books from the 80s, where there were like six or more different ways to get the the end safely, this one, only one! Yes, try to turn left instead of right? Dead, try to avoid combat because your health is low? Dead. As another reviewer stated, it is wayyyyy to linear for my tastes. There is only one path to successfully finish the book and it becomes a matter of simple trial and error to see which direction to go. Then to top it all off, if steadily bleeds stamina points from you and then force feeds you into a battle with 20 zombies with a measly pistol or you're automatically dead if you attempt to hide or to flee. Another thing that bugged me, I finished it on hardcore, and even had the two most powerful weapons in the game, but at the very end, when its been non-stop fighting and your health is low, guess what? You lose both of them automatically LOL! I barely squeaked by the end boss, but I wasn't happy or satisfied, just glad it was over. I like my gamebooks to be challenging, but this one was pure frustration during the second half of the book. I love the types of fighting adventure books, but this one had some really bad weaknesses that just ruined it for me. The story was pretty good and it still deserves 3 stars, but definitely not my favorite book. Just my .02.
