I want to like it...

I want to like this app, really I do! However, there are so few stories and even fewer lgbt+ love interests. They tease more female love interests but they haven’t released them - not even a chapter. The app looks like it has a good foundation and interesting stories but the story and romance options leave much to be desired. The Star choices are approximately 20 a piece, but good luck reading enough stories to pay for even one. [TLDR] This is an interactive stories game to keep on your radar but isn’t worth playing (for non-straight women). Hopefully they progress enough for it to be fun.

Really good but few updates
Macie mea

I started playing this a while ago, about a year. When I stumbled across it I played Road Kill immediately, Howie’s route. And then I played Heir to Love lies, Sergio’s route. I feel in love with the game and I read everything however I’ve noticed that the Howie and Sergio routes in particular are few and far in between. This really disappoints me since those are the two routs I’ve been waiting on the longest.

Love it!!

Just downloaded Fictif because of the tale from the Arcana and I’m already in love with Last Legacy!! Absolutely love the art style, the writing (which sometimes comes off a bit strange but it’s hilarious nonetheless) and the music!! The only complaint I really have is how to get stars, I know this suggestion and comparison is something you see often but I feel that this is truly a much better system. The arcana gives more coins with the wheel and daily check ins, if stars could be given like that (at least being able to get 10-15 a day!) then it would be amazing! I feel like it would make it a much better experience for those who are unable to pay for stars and such!! Anyways, it’s an absolutely fantastic game and I love it!

Awful compared to arcana
peeliestears

Where do I even start? I decided to try this out after I played all the routes in arcana, and fell in love with it. The characters, the world building, the music, everything was great! Was highly dissapointed by this though. Fine, I’ll excuse the need for the things you need to read chapters, the arcana also had a wait time of 3 hours for one key (although you could get keys from heart hunter) + you could permanently purchase chapters and wouldn’t have to spend another key whenever you wanted to reread it. But the stars?? In the arcana, sure the wheel of fortune you have a 0000.1% chance of getting 1000 coins, however with the daily login bonus, the ads you can watch for 40(?) coins, and heart hunter, I’d say it’s pretty fair. Login everyday for a week and you’ve earned enough to permanently unlock a main characters chapter (ex. Asra) which cost more due to them being a major character (fair.) Thé star system here? Garbage. 1 star for ads? When most choices cost around 30? 3 stars for reading 5 chapters? It’s gonna take me a whole lot more than 7 days to be able to buy a romantic choice. Most of the romantic choices are extremely disappointing at that! In the arcana, every choice you make somewhat progresses your relationship with the character, and it’s actually somewhat romantic (unless you choose to, like, walk into Lucio’s room in the prologue, and even him pushing you onto a bed is more romantic than whatever happens here.) I mean, come on, I paid like 28 stars to sit next to Felix in last legacy and nothing happened? Really? I have to pay 38 stars to PET a CAT? Dont even get me started on the writing. The fact that the stories are ongoing, although a bit irritating, is fine. Patience is a virtue after all. However; the fact that the stories aren’t even written that well doesn’t make me WANT to wait for them. In the arcana, sure, I had to wait for more chapters to release, especially on the minor characters (Muriel, Lucio, Portia) and I’m still waiting, hoping you release a valerius route, yet their stories were so captivating that I was counting down the days till it released! Here? I have almost no desire to wait the amount of time it takes for a new chapter to release, simply because it isn’t interesting enough. The characterization in arcana was amazing, every character was involved even if they weren’t the one you were romancing, and they all had their flaws and pluses. Here? They’re either awful, or great. No in-between. The writing sounds like fan fiction Id write in sixth grade, throwing in big words in order to make it seem smarter when in reality I don’t know what half of them mean. The characters don’t draw me in, and the ones that do I am unable to romance (I’m looking at you, fortune teller from last legacy). Somehow, minor characters that appear twice are more enticing than the main ones! Please, fix your game. It has potential, especially in comparison to arcana. Perhaps you’ve bitten off more than you can chew- in the arcana, it was all one big world. Here, it’s a ton of mini stories with different routes that you just can’t seem to keep up with. Sure, trying new things is great, but maybe stick to things you do best. Like the arcana.

I need a way to get more stars-
ghh hi jhijhg

It takes to long to get stars. Besides that it’s a pretty good game.

one critique
blmtootho

the stories are incredible and has a special element to them that other story games don’t. my only critique is that i wish we were rewarded more stars so we can participate more in the stories.

I have mini question
SquishedMuffin

When are we getting more of howie’s story? That’s it, Also I love this game!

LOVE the game art and REALLY love Last Legacy, but...
Anger Owl

I wish it was as easy to earn stars in Fictif as is it to earn coins in The Arcana. I would GLEEFULLY watch ads if I earned 10 stars per ad instead of ONE (1) STAR. It’s kind of insulting, tbh. 10 coins per ad in The Arcana nets you 40 coins, and it adds up fast! I love it! Nix Hydra gets their ad revenue and I don’t have to spend money on coin packs if I don’t want to! But 1 measly star per ad in Fictif? Come ON. Oh, AND—the coins stack up in the daily checkins in The Arcana from 10 on day 1 to 240 coins on day 7. That also adds up fast! And it’s an incentive to keep opening the app every day and play new romance routes or replay old ones with new choices! But 7 stars after 5 days, IF you check in every day in Fictif, and only 1 star earned per ad, is soooo not an incentive to keep opening the app every day.... I really, REALLY wish earning stars was as easy in Fictif as it is earning coins in The Arcana. That’s literally my only complaint. Meantime, I’m patiently but VERY eagerly awaiting Sage’s next chapter in Last Legacy ??

the best interactive story games i’ve ever played
smaemy

the ability to pick your pronouns is weirdly rare in most of these interactive story games in the app store. so that’s very appreciated, especially for trans and/or non-binary folks like myself. to break it down simply: the artwork: 10/10, especially with the arcana characters ? y’all know exactly what you were doin there with muriel ?? the writing: 9.8/10, i took off .2 points because i’m salty about waiting for sage and miguel’s new chapters the music/audio: 9.5/10, this is a pretty good rating for most games like this. the music doesn’t give me a migraine or make me feel like i’m watching an adult film on vhs— the arcana soundtracks do a lot for setting the tone of the scenes. i know voice actors aren’t cheap, but if we could get a russian accent on julian….?? please and thank you overall gameplay: 9.9/10, i need more content cuz i accidentally did speed runs of everything…?

Just Amazing
Cideshi

I usually never write reviews, but this app was just too good. I see a lot of people complaining about the time for tickets, but I see it as a rather common thing in otome or immersive games. 3 hours for one ticket is long, but I 100% think the chapters make up for it. They are long and complicated which make you attached to the characters. In less than a week, I was able to finish 10 incredible chapters which isn’t as common as you think since you would usually have to wait 2 hours for one minute long stories while Fictif has at least 10 minute choice based ones. Though I do have to disagree with the stars as there should be some better way to get them easier and using the stars, there was no feeling of temptation as the choices were bland. Basically, you could comb Sage’s hair, but would there really be anything intimate about it, so I would just opt for not going with some of the choices to save money. Though the illustrations are sometimes worth it. Anyways, I think that’s why I would rate it 4 out of 5 instead of 5 out of 5, but it’s really a great game. Better than most of the choice-based story games out there. It might be because I didn’t play Arcana since many people seem to compare this game with that one, but yeah it’s a good game compared to other ones I have played before.
