Good content and quick downloads

Helmholtz_watson

I never had any issues with downloads taking long maybe a minute two at the max. This is more than a magazine, there are interactive graphics and videos. If you are still running dial up or 1mb internet maybe the printed version will be better suited for you.

Excellent...

Four stars cause nothing is perfect....yet!

Inability to read offline

Califmarko

It's unconscionable that you have to be connected to read the issues. Unlike Zinio (the best reader ever) you have to be connected and can't read on an airplane Orr someplace without data. I took the bait and got wowed by the "bonus content" while sitting on my couch. Downloaded a bunch of issues for a cross country flight. 5 min after takeoff - useless. Don't make the same mistake I did. Subscribe through Zinio and have the freedom to take the content YOU PAID FOR anywhere you like

Never converted print to e-sub

Keybanker

After receiving emails from Esquire I converted my print subscription to a digital subscription. I was able to download one issue and now the only way I seem to be able to get new issues is if I buy each one at the newsstand price ... and that won't happen. How hard can it be for them to get this to work correctly?

The download Problem

BobtheSubGenius

Excellent magazine. Loses one star due to download problem. Solution? (admittedly, a work-around): Initial download of the issue is relatively quick, and I've got a measly 3 Mps connection. Once that's done, click through each article. Pause on the ones that don't come up immediately, and wait until they download. Then continue through the articles, pausing/downloading where needed. When you reach the end of the issue, you've got the entire magazine available for offline reading. Yeah, it's a chore. But it only took me about three minutes with my slow connection. But for two bucks an issue, I don't mind. Esquire Online is heavy with multimedia. Downloading the entire thing would take a very long time. Their solution is the only way of keeping all those bells-and-whistles without posting a massive file, though admittedly, this solution is kind of clunky.

esquire digital magazine is ...

Harlem Flowers

Pretty good these days. I left and am now back. when i left the digital magazine was horrible. i dint think it had its own platform and most times it half downloaded. so far ... its doing what its supposed to and the interactives are really cool.

Not the Worst App Ever

Amdriver

I gave this app one star in an earlier review. I thought it was Dreadful. Turns out Esquire just doesn't convert subscriptions from print to digital as quickly as I thought it would be done, so I couldn't access anything. A day later I got an email with instructions on how to get a user ID and password, which I already had. I went through the process anyway and then everything has worked fine since then. I'm still checking out the app, so I'm not sure what the final rating will be. It doesn't deserve the zero I wanted to post earlier, though.

Can't Access Existing Subscriptions - only buy new one

MJFreer

This app does allow for accessing an existing subscription It ONLY has option to buy a new subscription

Esquire app

A little glitchy. Could be smoother.

Pitiful

Mysundance

I have been a subscriber to the digital edition for six months. I've only ever been able to download one issue. The FAQs don't help and nothing I try helps. Money down the drain!
