Great app with a big flaw

I have always been on the hunt for a email app to replace the default apple mail app. I have used outlook, spark, Edison, airmail...along with many others. I really did like this email app. I thought the interface is simplistic, yet elegant. The email viewer doesn’t have a lot of fluff and is reminiscent of Spark, in that regards. I do like the “Brief Me” function, which is essentially like a calendar function. Some have noted the Boomerang only syncs with limited email clients and that doesn’t really bother me...yet, as it will likely add more. However, the app doesn’t tell me how many unread emails I have unless I open the app. Once I do that, the badge icon updates. But once I close the app again, then the badges disappears. I really don’t want to keep opening the app to check if I have received emails. For this reason, I had to stop using this app and refer back to Spark. If they get the issues with the badge resolved, I will like go back to using this email app

This app has a lot of flaws. Like A LOT. I use it for work. I can’t see more than 10 emails in my inbox at a time. I literally have to delete anything to see any older messages. The search function doesn’t work right. It doesn’t notify me of new Mail no matter how many times I’ve chosen the option to do so. It doesn’t memorize any of my email addresses i have added so I have to manually type them in. Oh and I can’t even get email if I’m connected to the internet. I have to change my settings over to wireless to view my 10 messages I’m allowed?‍♀️

I would like to love Boomerang as it has several features I like, such opening pieces in Google Crome, but the are to many things that I don’t like. Most times it takes a long time for emails to be received in Boomerang. A friend will tell me that the sent me something and it can take from 30 to 45 minutes to show up. Also, it is difficult to figure out how to mass delete junk mail and trash.

Read by recipient option isn’t accurate

I did a little experiment on the app. I did send an email to my different account to see if it will indicate “read by recipient” surely enough, it did when I haven’t even open the email I did sent to my my different account. It makes me wondering whether it is accurate or not.

Wish interface was the same as desktop

I love all of the features on boomerang on the desktop integration in outlook. Particularly the ability to send availability and auto populating meeting times when the receiver selects a time and date for a meeting however the app is missing this interface which is leaving me feeling underwhelmed by not having the same functionality and leaving me with having to find another app that can offer this same functionality.

I’ve been using Boomerang for Gmail for several years - total game changer. I was excited when the app came out. It’s fine but the flaws are a dealbreaker. Emails don’t load completely, and neither do images. Without being able to read full emails or see images …. The app is pretty much useless to me. Really looking forward to fixes for these issues! Thanks boomerang team
