Pathetic App Connection and Layout

Not only is the app layout confusing, the app itself is riddled with glitches that make the app largely inoperable. And that’s assuming the Reeflink controller is even connecting in the first place, which is about a 50/50 chance. Far more frustrating than useful.

I have 3 systems, when I make a change on one system it changes the settings on all three. SPS, LPS, and mixed reef. I seems like Echotech Marine is doing not a thing about it. No updates to fix any of the issues hobbyist are having with Echotech Marine products. For the $$$ we paid for this stuff it should work flawless or at least be fixed quickly when a problem occurs.

I spent THOUSANDS on EcoTech lights for my 150gal FW Planted tank, and have been using them now for over a year. When it works, it’s not bad. But when it doesn’t, there’s no way to find out why or how to fix it. Online help is useless. Customer service tells you things that clearly aren’t true. Unfortunately, the times where it doesn’t work outnumber the times it does. More often then not, you will get forced into using the Desktop App and programming (or re-programming) your lights through a USB cable. It’s really sad - as an LED light fixture, the light itself is a great piece of hardware. But even with the Reeflink, the Desktop App, EcoSmart Live, and this iPhone App, programming it or remotely turning the lights on or off is an exercise in pure madness. There are a TON of better alternatives with better customer service. If you are shopping for high performance LED lighting for your aquarium and remote/wireless control is important to you, LOOK ELSEWHERE.

Fantastic Hardware Embarrassing Software

First off some compliments. The pumps and lights on my system are fantastic! Truly great products with no complaints. High quality and long lasting. Best in the business. However the software...in an age where people are technically savvy and make decisions based on tech and ease of use, this app is one of the worst I’ve ever seen. It doesn’t work most of the time and the basic function renders and advanced reefer almost useless features to make on the app. You almost certainly need to go to the website on your PC. Please invest some of your R&D dollars on the software!! You need some engineers that take pride in a usable product. Although Apex products are not as high quality (pumps) I’ll be making the change due to the software app and real usability on the app. Such a better interface- I’ll settle for “good” on the hardware for a “great” interface. Hopefully leadership at Ecotech reads this to help them compete with some real customer feedback.

Download app for my Vectra pump. Asks you to log in, what log in?? Nothing to click on to create an account. Go to EcoSmart website and still no way to create an account. So much for using an app to control my pump. iPhone8

Most unreliable system ever

The app itself is fine, no real complaints there. But the hardware that you need to use control your devices with wirelessly, being the reeflink is the biggest piece of crap I’ve ever owned. You have to constantly power cycle it to keep it connected and it always seems to fail when you need it most. I’ve been trying to get my radion to program my new schedule for the last hour and can’t get anything to connect. Terrible. Side note: I also worked for an aquarium service company for a bit and we had the same issues with every single one of our customers.
