Was a good app a few years ago....
Poofbgone

Unfortunately, the writer of this app has changed and that is abundantly clear. The devotions are hard to follow and read as unfocused and meandering. This app was the devotion standard on iOS back when it first began. I have paid for an annual subscription, but now I just go back to my archived devotionals from 2014 and 2015. No refunds, of course. I am extremely disappointed.

Just what I was looking for!

These devotionals are so refreshing! I’d been looking for a devotional beyond the My Daily Bread types and these speak to my heart!

Updated Most accurate 2019 review

Paying for anything “church” is at first strange. but God created life and if it is because of Him that all life and jobs exist and that we should be able to connect with him through it all then shouldn’t we be paying for any jobs? Or anything? If this were a memoir from a president or your favorite celebrity you wouldn’t question payment at all. It’s a tough topic but sometimes people actually work hard in what they do and they find themselves working hard within the church and some positions deserve compensation. These one stars seem kind of “casting-the-first-stone”-ish haha. So, yes. As many as the reviews have said, the devotional content seemed to have changed from something really beautiful to something unrelatable to all but I definitely feel that they have seen the comments and that they are back on track now and I now can start recommending this back to people. 1 Star for user friendliness 1 Stars for meaningful devotions 1 Star for the apps beauty 1 Star that it actually works 1 Star for reasonable pricing

My app
clomen

My names Imani I am trying the dvd app for the first time.

Used to love!
AppGurl98

So I have subscribed for years, but recently this app makes me sign in every day. How annoying is that?!? The content goes through highs and lows just like our lives, so I don’t mind it and generally I can relate. BUT this sign out thing..... it’s annoying as heck!

Great when I have time to read it
rupaq

Good read but for those who have little time to stop and read or for those with poor site would an audio version be available. Like it otherwise.

Disappointing...

So much promise within this app. If sharing the gospel on social media is the goal then sharing dvo app graphics and devotionals would be ideal. However, accessing the graphics requires a fee of up to $5.99 and even the archives require a fee.

Absolutely not
Billie1979

Well I was surprised that the app itself was free, the first day was lackluster and all it did was give a scripture reference then talked ALL about the application and people who made it (husband and wife team) and all it offers a that was day one of the daily devotional... the NEXT DAY, today... I get up early to do what I hope is better than yesterday (because I came up with my own reading for yesterday)... and was met with a freakin pay screen. Are you KIDDING me?!! First of all I downloaded this because I was desperately seeking some direction with my weekday devotions and feeling like God was really distant. Then to be met with this. Such a disappointment and let down. Tell people up front what they are getting. And trust me, your little first into devotional was NOT good enough to make me want to pay for further reading assignments. How disappointing.

Exactly the same as Pocket Fuel
joannasummers

While I love DVO and Pocket Fuel, without subscribing to them you have no idea that they are EXACTLY THE SAME DEVOTIONALS on the same day. Do not make the same mistake I did and pay for a year subscription for both of them.

I love this.

I’ve been a subscriber since July 2013 and I can’t say enough good things about this app. I love the images and the ease of saving and sharing is wonderful. I love having the backgrounds on my phone. So meaningful and just my favorite app. I always have it on my phone
