As advertised but...

Okay, I know you're gonna think I'm a nit-picker, but since this app has amazing potential, I'm not gonna hold back. DVD Dashboard does what it says it'll do. You have access to your movie collection on the go (especially nice for those like me with collections of 200+ who may not be able to keep a mental catalogue), so on the way home from work stuck in traffic you can browse to your hearts content to find that perfect film that'll make your night infinitely better. You can browse by title or genre. That's a great feature since you may not know the name but rather the style of movie you want to watch. If the developers kept the current version without any improvements, I would gladly recommend to anyone with a decent sized movie collection. It's well worth the $1.99 sticker price. To get that 5th star, however, they need to make some changes. In no particular order... 1. Want to be able to either sync with IMDB for ratings, description, and time. If not this, then the ability for the user to put in this info. It would be helpful for the family oriented (especially when not connected to Wi-Fi, Edge, or 3G. 2. Revamp the genre list. The list right now is nice, but a user editable system would be so much better. Or even multiple genres for a single movie. I found it difficult to categorize a number of my movies (Fear and Loathing was particularly hard) 3. Instead of separate listings for the numbers (1,2,3, etc.) have one that is for all numbers (the familiar #). Other tan those three gripes, this is a perfectly good app. If those features are implemented in one way or another down the line, consider this a 5 star rating!

Good, but could be better

It is a helpful program, but I'd like to see more than one category to assign it to. I'd like to be able to make some of my own designations, such as Disney, Kids, by the actors name. I'd also like to be able to do a search within the movies, such as search for all the Mel Gibson movies I own or all the Disney movies, etc.

Wow, great app. I exported my movie list from iTunes, did a little clean up and had it imported onto my iPhone in no time at all. Wonderful.
Deleted everything after update

I paid for this application thinking it would be better than the free Pocketpedia app. After downloading the update, I opened the app to see what was changed and found that my entries were all deleted. I feel this app is a waste of money.
Missing basics

I would like to have the ability to add a genre (martial arts, animated, anime, adult, educational, all missing for example) And more convenient would be to be able to assign multiple genre to the same film -alien is horror/thriller/sci-fi for example when browsing I would like it to show up in all 3 categories. I also wish it would find movie covers the way iTunes finds album covers. So I could browse by box cover.

I have downloaded over 65 programs for my iphone and have to say, I am very impressed with the quality of this app. I have been a collector of DVD's for years and have never cataloged them. When I saw this app, it gave me a reason to begin entering all of my movies into a database. After spending 4 hrs. entering all of my movies into an Excel spreadsheet, I had a problem uploading the file. I contacted customer service and received an email from Doug within 10 minutes. Long story short, Doug was able to get my file working and and I am a satisfied customer. I highly recommend this program and the development team provides great customer service.

Bought this app and input over 800 dvds. Updated the app and now ALL movies are gone! If you know how to import a list of your movies maybe this is a good app for you. Wasted all my time inputting the movies!
Simple and easy

Imported 2300+ with no trouble. App is very basic, but worth it to be able to have my list easily portable with very little effort to import the titles. Search options for the list would be nice.
