This is something all Drobo fans have wanted for years. It really takes the Drobo users experience to the next level. If you own a 5N or B810n you need this app. Well worth the money.
To expensive considering…….

This App is to expensive and other NAS manufactures offer access apps for free. Also there are to few and outdated Drobo App’s in the Drobo App store. I really hope Drobo takes a close look at there competition….i.e…. Syn#$gy and Qn@p! I don’t want Drobo to go out of business because I actually really do like the company & new 8 bay data tiering 64TB NAS’s.

I have a very stable 50mbps symmetrical internet connection, but this app is very slow and unresponsive. It's the type of app that Drobo should have made a long time ago so now that they've taken their time, it really should be amazing. But it isn't.

The installation was easy. I followed the instructions on the YouTube video. Am using the app on both iPhone and iPad. Now I have access to our Drobo from anywhere, via web browser or iPhone or iPad. Very nice.
Direct access FTW

It does allow direct access from the phone which is on the same LAN after you install the drobo access app on the drobo box itself. Leave off mydrobo to avoid Internet access.

Aweful app, does not tell you the dependency apps you have to install. When you do get it to work it is so slow it is almost useless. I wish I could give it 0 stars but the store won't let me :)
Simply doesn't work

Nothing works. Not the app, not the app on the Drobo itself, nothing. Not even the customer service people work. It's a complete waste of time. If you're interested in paying a premium to be a beta tester, working out all of someone else's problems for them, still not getting solutions, and not being paid, Drobo has the products for you. Otherwise, keep shopping.

I was able to quickly get the app up and running with my drobo 5n. On the drobo machine you have to enable and configure the three drobo apps - mydrobo,droboaccess and DroboPix if you plan on using DroboPix. I like the fact that it can instantly backup all of my pics and video similar to google drive, OneDrive and Dropbox. Pros - disk space limited to the amount you put into your Drobo - no annual or monthly fees - access your files from anywhere Cons - the app does not store thumbnails or small preview images of the files in your folders. If you have lots of pics in a folder, you would need to download each one to review it. There's no quick view - disruptions in file upload can cause files to be stuck on he Drobo with no way of removing it I like the app and will continue to use but at this time I couldn't ever recommend it to anyone until Drobo adds thumbnails or preview images for a file

I installed it following the instructions and after making sure to register the Drobo 5N first, it worked. It saves me from having to stop on my road trip during my vacation to send the lists my boss needed... a minute to locate the file in my Drobo via the app and quickly sent the link for the boss to download.
