The only thing I don’t like is when I am not the driver or even in my car it tracks that’s not ok because it’s not me that drove for the last 10 days

If you speed, break hard etc, it will record it. But they say, you can delete it because you were not driving, or you drove the bus. Well, you might delete it from “Drive Sense” app, but it will still show up and count against your % in your Esurance profile . I stopped using my datas for this bs. app. The insurance just want you to drive slow and hunt for % . But they don’t give it to you. It acts like a red-light: it slows you down, that is all. No rewards !! If I am wrong, please post your savings of DriveSense with a screenshot of your Esurance statement. It’s just a joke and not a serious app.

Drive sense is a pretty good app. I just feel that it’s overly sensitive some times. Which in return doesn’t give quite the accurate read on vehicle driving statuses. Especially braking. People stop abruptly all the time in front of me. And what am I to do? Ease down on the brakes? still end up hitting a car? I’ve expressed this to a representative over the phone before as well. But sense you have updated the app, let’s see if it will change its performance accurately.

We love drive sense! The app is so much fun and personally I dig being able to check my progress and aim higher which is what having this makes possible! It makes me feel important (I know silly right?) but that’s how I look at it. Driving these days can be dangerous even going to the corner store so drive sense keeps you aware and I have noticed I am a much more conscientious road warrior! Thanks for the opportunity to rate and review!

It’s hard to remember to turn off when someone else is the driver. The lack of accuracy makes it frustrating sometimes as well. It does remind me to be a bit more aware of my driving though which helps I suppose.

I pay for auto insurance because I DRIVE AN AUTOMOBILE! Not so I can take public transportation!! I don’t drive on main busy roads to get to the store when I have to get more eggs to finish the brownies I started because THEY ARE BUSY!!! Maybe add traffic detection to this app!!! Your welcome!!!

I get notices for hard breaking when on straight always where no breaking took place. I will also get occasional speeding notices while set on cruise control at the speed limit.

Sometimes, it picks up hard braking that didn’t occur (i.e. your phone falls onto the floor while driving). This has only happened to me a few times, and you can usually delete mistakes. Make sure you disable it while another person is driving, especially if they drive recklessly. It will also pick up things like bike rides. More concerning, it takes off points for driving during the day. If you drive during commuter hours, like most people do, it will count against your discount. Customer service tells you that DriveSense only tracks late night driving, but that’s not true based on my experience. I’ve actually lost some of my discount due to otherwise safe daytime driving. I also find it really annoying that it notifies me about how often I drive, how long I should drive for, etc. For example, it will advise against doing errands during the week, which is a bit preachy, nannying, and irritating. I was just trying to take a nice bike ride during rush hour, jeeze. I don’t see how you could possibly score a 30% discount, as I couldn’t possibly drive more safely. If I can’t keep my initial 10% discount, I’m out. It’s really weird to know that your insurance company can data farm your driving habits.
