Don’t judge a game by it’s cover!

Luminar_Vega

This game has amazing depth to it, especially after unlocking the more special rule-changing classes, braving the hardest difficulty to take on a very ultimate endgame boss. It may seem difficult at first, randomly unfair and you will get stuck in unwinnable situations. But endure, spend your achievement points unlocking cards, permanent passives and traits (Don’t waste on reviving yourself)... and the amount and weight of the decisions you can make in game is amazing. Each character class is diverse in practically every way too, and not just skin deep. To think I found this game as an alternative for SLAY THE SPIRE not being on iOS (yet). It’s actually much better in all areas except for visual/sound presentation. It’s a real shame that many will overlook this true gem cause of that. Which is why I decided to actually write a review and promote it everywhere I go. It should not be missed!

Algorithm to waste your time

Brorates

It’s pretty cut and clear, it’s meant to waste time. Fine if the game was actually enjoyable, but it’s like pulling teeth. To get better cards, you need to die. Which means they understood that it is not at all possible for a first run to get farther than the second level. Makes me wonder if they have a chart they made that shows hours put into the game relative to how far you can get. I’m my opinion if you’re going to do something like this “game” tried to do, make it possible to win via skill/good choices, instead of forcing you to grind out the necessary points/cards to progress. Do yourself a favor and look elsewhere for something to pass the time. Something fun.

Don’t let the graphics fool you

This game is top tier! Tons of depth and replay ability. Worth every penny, a must buy if you like deck building RPGs.

Unbalanced

Iqdjqfjqjrh

This game is so unbalanced. You can have all the spells you need to defeat most of the monsters in a room and then a rare will spawn and absolutely destroy you. The Sphinx enemy is completely overpowered for no reason. I made it to the second floor and the only way I could get to the boss was by killing a sphinx. I had at least 60 heath but was playing a mage class. The Sphinx has a broken ability where he can make you unable to play certain cards, but instead of rotating between what cards I can and can’t play it just stayed at spell cards. So the entire match I was unable to use spell cards. I was using a mage build with the best spells but non were effective. I finally beat him with the few melee abilities I had and right in the way of the boss was another rare Sphinx... TWO IN ONE ROOM. I’ve been stuck on floor 2 for weeks now because of the broken enemy mechanics. Fix your game I’m on normal mode

2 years for every class to beat lord

Myquist

I played this game for about 2 years. Some people would argue the game is unbalanced. It is true. Some classes are naturally weaker than others in terms of probability of beating the final boss. However, it doesn’t mean they are weak when you get all key cards for them. Warrior and paladin are hard to beat the game because they require more specific key cards but I once killed the Lord of the Dream in my first turn using warrior and paladin with scimitars and bleeders. The only annoying thing is that sometimes enemies can happen to have ability to exactly counter your build. For example, vampire boss is immune to poison when you choose poison build. You can only concede and restart your next run.

Great game, lazy execution

Shahid shade

The balance on the game is awful. The vast majority of games are unwinnable. If you’re lucky you might get cards to help you advance but you probably won’t.

Not great..,

hddgybdyujh

Very simple, fairly dull, and not tremendously well designed. A card battler where the battles are largely determined by the composition of your deck vs your opponents, with little skill. Most outcomes are essentially predetermined from their start based on what cards each deck contains.

Fun game, great value

frfiallo

This game is a robust dungeon crawler with combat resolved via decks that are customized from a starting class over the course of a 30 minute adventure. The plot is nonexistent, but the game systems are fun and it has tons of replay value-there’s much variety between classes and within each class. If you haven’t already, check out Night of the a Full Moon for a spiritual successor that is a much lower challenge but still fun.

Amazing game but...

The best.

Best roguelike AND best card game I've played. Thoroughly solid mechanics. Just enough random chance that you do better in some runs than others, but that I've never screamed at it in dejected frustration. If I'm rolled a bad game, nonetheless it seems "fair" somehow. And for a game with so much random, there's definitely skill to it, and I've gotten progressively better over time. The achievements are always just barely reachable, and compelling to go after. Solid, hugely replayable game mechanics, and a single game doesn't last incredibly long. Serious props on this game, it's a keeper.
