DraftCode Offline PHP IDE

DraftCode is the offline iPad and iPhone PHP IDE with a webserver runtime that can run real WebApps (like the included WordPress or phpLiteAdmin) without requiring internet access or uploads.
Category Price Seller Device
Developer Tools $8.99 Solesignal Limited iPhone, iPad, iPod

Develop and run real PHP WebApps offline inside DraftCode using built in standard PHP 5.4.23, PHP extensions and a runtime that acts as your web server with full support for sessions, cookies, redirects and forms. No internet connection or uploading required.

Take developing new ideas into the creative and casual habit field of iOS, or start to learn PHP without having to interact with a server.

DRAFTCODE'S RUNTIME - YOUR WEBSERVER ENVIRONMENT

DraftCode's runtime does not only execute PHP. It supports everything you need to run a real PHP WebApp offline by providing the webserver environment. DraftCode fully supports sessions, cookies, redirects, working with POST and GET forms and AJAX. And of course it also runs Javascript and renders HTML and CSS.
The runtime has been tested with Web Apps as complex as WordPress, Flatpress and others.

PHP EXTENSIONS

DraftCode already includes many popular extensions like MySQL, Sqlite3, PDO, OpenSSL, libxml, zip, soap and others. And we are working on including more with each release.

FILE/FOLDER WORKSPACE

DraftCode has an easy to use file/folder workspace for you to manage your files. You can import image resources from your camera roll and send your code to other iOS applications.

WEB PREVIEW

View your pages as they would appear on Safari. You can work on javascript/AJAX, HTML and CSS in conjunction with PHP. Alternatively view the raw html for debugging.

CODE EDITOR THEMES

Edit your code in a dark or light colour scheme with adjustable font-size. Use the keyboard extensions to quickly access common code snippets and characters. Draftcode of course also supports working with an external keyboard.

A Top Player!

I find this mobile IDE to be becoming a trusty tool in my workflow belt. While, there are bugs (especially the undo roulette, lol), I will say, at this moment, this is the best of its kind of app on the market, in my opinion. I look forward to following the developers as you all continue to enhance this wonderful application.

Powerful editor ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
WALTERCOM

If you develop websites, need to code a plugin, create a WordPress theme, and need speed, efficiency, this is the right application! Powerful code editor, with the possibility to run WordPress on iPhone/iPad. Furthermore, you can export your projects in a simple and efficient way. Amazing, perfect and professional! Recommend!

Terrific app!

I love this app. If you’ve used (or heard of) WAMP or MAMP, this is like that, in a “lite” version. When I travel - or even when I’m just home sitting in bed - I often prefer my iPad to a laptop. DraftCode let’s me work on web applications without dealing with remote servers or even needing an internet connection Sure, it isn’t a 100% replacement for working with a full-featured IDE on a laptop, but it’s great for knocking out prototypes or demos, working on a plane, or any time mobility is the #1 consideration.

Incredible Possibilities

I love (LOVE) this app. Only two things prevents a 5-Star review: 1) Scrolling: When scrolling, the screen snaps back to where you started and you must find your place again. I can't express how frustrating this is when you're trying to flow... This behavior occurs consistently doesn't happen system wide. You have to scroll twice after any change made because of the maddening "SNAP!" 2) Undo I rarely use this function because it's more destructive than helpful. It doesn't undo one step at a time, it jumps back a seemingly arbitrary number of steps so you have no idea what was undone. If you've just squashed a bug and then hit undo a few lines later, you have my sympathies… Fix these and it's practically perfect (and probably one of the most valuable apps in the store)! [ iPhone 8 • iOS 13.3.1 ]

Was good

Has huge issues and cant be relied upon. Too many issues to work around or even mention here. Dont expect this to work well. I hope that they fix it.

Great for practice

It’s a little buggy. The keyboard gets in the way of me scrolling. Sometimes I can’t scroll at all.

Works great on the iPad.

I was able to connect the MySQL to my computer through ngrok (tcp 3306) and use my Bluetooth keyboard to code anywhere I had internet. So, not only just great for offline dev.

Still blows my mind... please try to add Drupal?
Bri How

I see that it supports WordPress, which is insanely cool! Please try to add Drupal. There is practical use for mobile development. I love this! One suggestion: focus more on the MAMP server, rather than code editor. If you could somehow integrate with Coda or an established code editor for iOS, the possibilities would be endless! My current setup: Prompt 2, Coda, DraftCode. I'm virtually able to do any sort of development now, at any time, and it's an amazing world. Thank you.

Great, but not perfect

This is an amazing app and it allows me to code on the go when I’m bored. If there’s one feature that I would need is the ability to transfer my projects between my phone and my computer more easily. There are a few limitations, but that’s due to the iPhone, not the app. Still a great app, totally recommend.
