What could have been?

? ? ???

More interactive information about everything around you. Only main objective items. Voice acting could have been better. Dialogue options could be better too. Story is interesting, visuals are nice. You walk to slow. 80s theme is radical.

Great Game. Controls need work

This game was both challenging and beautiful. The puzzles kept me guessing. I thought the voice acting fit the murder mystery detective vibe the game has. I also loved all the references to other games and pop icons. However, the touch controls in the game need work. The magnifying glass icon doesn't work half the time and dragging items was cumbersome. Small thing though. I thoroughly enjoyed the game!

It's been 20 minutes...

I love point and click adventure games. The unique comic style, action sequences/ detailed backgrounds and art are really good, reminded me a bit of the later Runaway games. I played for about 20 min and gave up. I found The questioning dialogue sections to be repetitive and random, making you guess your best choice but if your wrong you just have to keep looping through the same stuff til you find the 'right' one. The voice acting is so distracting/off/awkward. Maybe it's a translation issue? And there is a LOT of clunky dialogue, many dull sentences to comb through. And for all the beautiful backgrounds/rooms you go through, there is literally nothing to interact with. (Such as examining random objects, looking at things, funny commentary by the main character, etc, making an immersive exploring environment.). The ONLY things you can get any response from in the rooms/areas are the MAIN objectives. I paid 5 bucks and I think this is the first time I gave up on a beautifully animated , cool looking adventure game out of boredom. Maybe I missed something and it's for younger players? Sorry to be negative but I was excited and now meh. Update: I tried again, and didn't make it much further. I think what is seriously missing ISNT the writing, it's the voice acting. Also, the environment and items are 95% non-environment interactive (which is a lot of the fun with these games, you get to explore, look at things which might be random, etc) and I think buggy. You can't combine most items or try to use them on the 'wrong' people. What makes a Point n click story great is the ability to check out a lot of things, have unique and specific responses (great example is Runaway or Broken Sword series). With such great art, it just needs to be more in-depth with the character and environment interaction. And again, the voice acting is just annoying.

Wow. What a beautiful letdown...

I was initially interested in this, due to my love of the Broken Sword series from Revolution (which are terrific, btw). First - the good...beautiful imagery. No discounting that. Love the detail that went into it. But that's it for the good. The bad - well, everything else. Extremely short for a $5 game (finished in two hours), very inconsistent and clumsy controls ( no real direction on gameplay except constantly pressing the magnifying glass to find search areas and the notepad would work 80% of the time), lame and incoherent gypsy curse story line, voice acting which was ok, but phoned in (no change in tone when Dog was wrestling), and just a lack of polish overall. This is one of the annoying games that hound have been so much better. Look for the Broken Sword series if you want to see it done right...

Can't even get past the intro text.

Great visuals

The graphics were awesome. I thought the voice acting was a let down though and I wish there was less dialogue to read through. It got to a point where I just started skipping through the reading because it was taking to long to get through it all. The gameplay was cool though. Just wish there was more of it and less reading.

Lots of fun, just needs a tune-up

I agree with the other reviewers that some of the controls are a bit clunky or slow (for example, the characters shouldn't have to walk all the way across a room to change settings). However, I'm not bothered by the lack of a tutorial; the gameplay, inventory management, etc. will be familiar to anyone who has played a few "point and click" old school adventure games. I thought the graphics and voice acting were terrific, and the storyline and script were entertaining and novel. I saw influences from Grim Fandango, Phoenix Wright/Ace Attorney, the Blackwell series, and Sam and Max: think "horror detective" with a heavy dose of humor. I was thrilled to see a true adventure game appear among the standard AppStore offerings of Match 3, Angry Bird, and Sims spinoffs, particularly when most of the games designated as "adventure" are endless hidden object puzzles. I'd like to see the developers put out a release that addresses the glitches and minor flaws described by the other reviewers, because then this would truly be a 5 star game .

Visuals do not make a good game

Captainnibles

Good art, bad game. Absolutely random dialogue choices to progress, otherwise enjoy looping through the same text over and over. Very little to interact with outside of what is required. Voice acting could have used more direction. Boring to put it shortly, unfortunately. It had potential

Exactly what I've been waiting for
