In this interactive novel, you will follow and shape the lives of four young Spaniards on both sides of the divide. There's a left-leaning police officer, a good Catholic girl who becomes a nurse, a patriotic fighter pilot and an anarchist militiawoman who takes up arms in the name of revolution.

Honestly so freaking impressed with this, ended up going through the whole thing in one run and those 3 hours felt like three minutes. Really hope to see more of these history-related things soon.

this guided story forces the user to consider the feeling of the participants and the conflicting values that led to war. Since it added the human story of the conflict, i found this app very useful and is highly recommended at any stage in appreciating the Spanish Civil War.

The recent trend of Choice of Games (and their Hosted brand) publishing stinkers comes to a close! Enter Divided We Fall, a historical game based on the Spanish revolution in the 30s and the various sides of the war where anarchists and communists and fascists fight for power, freedom, and ideals. The narrative will take you through the lives of 4 main characters: a nurse, a pilot, a police officer, and a guerrilla fighter. Their lives will intersect on occasion and (since they are oftentimes on opposing sides) your choices might even cause them to kill each other. The game features actual photographs taken during the time period and the prose is sharp and sometimes heart wrenching. I can't wait to play the game again as only one character survived during my play through and her fate wasn't a happy one. I learned a lot about the time period through the included encyclopedia. No stats to increase in this game. Just hard choices. Love it!

I believe this would of been a high quality and enjoyable cog book had the author given his reader a choice. He knows history and his writing is good. The fatal error in my opinion is that he forces you to follow 4 story lines at once, which for me kills the immersion. Instead of making it a deep experience where you have 4 different life paths to choose from, giving you time to bond with and care about your role playing experience he makes you follow and participate in all 4 story lines. This is very sad as this ruins the book and is totally contrary to a choice game. So if u want to support being forced into story lines you have no interest in buy this book. To the author, I hope you write another book, you are a good writer, I just hope next time you keep the integrity of the role playing experience and allow a person to choose which professions or story lines they follow. Had you simply allowed us to choose which of the 4 stories we wanted to follow instead of shoving all 4 down our throat and not giving us a choice about it I would of rated u 5 stars.

There have been some real bombs lately by this company. I thought that the topic would mean an intelligent writer writing a fabulous story but instead I found this to be barely readable. There is no real choice and it skips back and forth between several characters in different places on different sides of the war. No identification is built with the characters as they skip back and forth and are on different sides. How are you supposed to invest in the story if you can't even choose sides? I have been soooo disappointed with choice of and hosted games lately. I own every single one but if the quality keeps dropping then I am going to just stop buying from you.

I was really looking forward to this game when it was being developed, however for the game is written in third person and it is very difficult to merge yourself into the story, it makes it even harder to do that when there are several separate stories running parallel to each other and jumping from one to another gets confusing at times.

Divided We Fall is a great interactive story. The writing is compelling and captures the ideal tone for the infamous civil war that it describes. The game is particularly intriguing because it places you in the role of four different characters during the war. Each of then have different political and personal views about the war. This makes it much easier to role play while also enmeshing the player in the situation.
