I love the initial concept and it has helped me lose weight but they take way too much of a cut. The last game I was in they took $47,000 and the players only made $2.38

I joined this app for the month of January. I joined two bets, one for $35 and one for $100, plus the $5 membership fee. I lost 24 pounds, almost double the required 4 percent... my total winnings: -$2.62 Dietbet’s take of both of those bets: $53,000+ (not including any money they make keeping my 135 for the month in interest and investments) The $35 dollar bet was called $5000 pot bonus meaning the company added $5000 to the pot to entice more people to join so the winnings wouldn’t just be split, the 5000 would be too. I’m this game alone they profited over 47,000 based on the number of winners and the measly $2.38 payout they gave us. The second bet was $100 entry, 67 people lost the bet and DietBet kept ALL $6700 of the winnings and only awarded the “winners” back out $100 entry fee. Make a bet with your friends or create a Facebook group or something but do not give your money to this GREEDY company.

UPDATE: I’m surprised by the recent negative reviews! It’s not a scam, that’s for sure! I had put on a little weight over the holidays and quarantine so I jumped into some New Year’s games. I won! Not a big payout because there were a lot of winners - yay us!! The weight is gone! That’s what I came here for! ORIGINAL review: This app was THE motivator to keep me focused on my weight loss journey. I’ve lost about 70 lbs, am very close to my goal and feel amazing. I wasn’t worried about making money, I just didn’t want to lose money! That kept me focused when things got tough...having money on the line. It’s a fun, engaging, supportive community and I am so thankful to have found it! I highly recommend DietBet! LOVE IT!!

I have never seen such a poorly run and selfish app as this! You bet for the chance to win money... I’ve played 2 games; “won” both and got my money back while DietBet profited nearly $6k per game while giving all of us winning players $0

If you’re motivated by the thought of winning money, you’ll be disappointed with your earnings. Diet bet is good for accountability and just okay for your bank account. Having money on the line did help me be more accountable, but I wish the payout was better. I’ve won 2 $100 Transformer Diet Bets and came out a total of +$18. That’s includes one winning payment of $0, because there were so many winners. *Napoleon Dynamite Voice* That’s like 30 cents a day! If you’re not 100% committed to losing weight just save your money or spend it on a nice pair of walking shoes.

dietbet took 48k and paid out 9k on a recent pot. In the end, despite reaching my goal and winning I actually lost money. Take you money use it for something More worth while

Or you will feel disappointed your winnings. I am not a fan of the “membership” which is now automatically added to your cart. This is my only negative. Otherwise, I’ve never been motivated to loose weight until money was on the line. I’ve cycled through ups and downs (four pregnancies) and have played about 30 games (you can play 3 at once) and have always come out ahead. I wouldn’t recommend a January bet, as the majority of people win and the winnings are exceptionally small, after DietBet takes their cut. But it is a business and as long as I win something, I’m happy. If you are looking for big bucks, this probably isn’t your platform, but with the average bet at $35, what do you expect? I’ve averaged about 50% profit per game, so definitely worth it for me!
