Keep a running log of your device's location history! If the phone is lost and out of battery or turned off, you will still have its last known location before the phone lost power.
This application can be used to locate a miss placed iPhone or keep tabs on a loved one. To track your loved one or locate your device, the app must be installed on the target iPhone.
Every time your phone changes cell towers, this application will turn on the GPS for 15 seconds and record the best location that your phone can determine. This location is then available online and can be viewed by logging into your account from any computer or phone that has an internet browser.

The application reports your device's location to a central server that you can log in to from your browser to track your device's location. This is done without decreasing your device's battery life or performance.
Once the application has been configured it will report your device's location every time your iPhone connects to a new cell tower. The application continues to report even after it has been closed and removed from the multitasking bar.
*NOTE* This application will report in the background ONLY on devices that support multitasking!
The application provides two forms of reporting: normal and emergency. When emergency mode is enabled your device will report back every minute its exact location. This will also reduce your battery life.

The service lets you specify custom URLs which get polled every time your device checks in with the service. You can use this feature to post your location in a blog or just to keep a long running record of your travels on your own web server.

This is a fairly simple app, but it works well for recording my devices’ location via a home-grown web service and the url forwarding feature.

My review is biased because Thus app was #1 BEFORE the updates. It had latitude and longitude, an alarm feature which I used a lot, and it also would take a photo of the person holding your phone. With the previous version, the thief that took my phone ended up returning the phone when they learned I had a photo of them. They couldn't get the alarm to ho off and called 12 hours later to return it. Again...Hugh fan of the OLDER VERSION. The new version is not as good as Life360 which is another app I use for location. PLEASE CHANGE IT BACK!!!

I've been using this app for years, almost since my first iPhone. I'm self employed, and this is how I track my business miles. Its tracking, combined with the online subscription, means that I can see every trip I've taken, every onsite job I've done. Can't imagine having to do taxes at the end of the year without it! Want to know where I was on Oct 18, 2014? I can tell you! I've tried other apps for tracking over the years, but this is the only one that seems to take ZERO extra battery. Life360, MileIQ, Everlance... all these seem to take a huge toll on battery life. This app - nothing. This app may not have the bells and whistles of some of the others out there, but year after year, it's the one I rely on every day to track my phone! Thanks for a great app!

ZERO customer service. All I needed to do was change the email address in my account but despite NUMEROUS requests for service I’ve had not one single response! The email address listed on my account no longer exists! Love the app just don’t expect anyone to ever contact you for support issues!

The app was great until the latest revision. Now it is useless. I will explain why. The main use of the app is that in case of lost or stolen, you could remotely switch the GPS location reporting to "emergency" mode. In this mode, you get location in every 1 minute. The latest version also has the same facility, but with a BIG difference. The app developer removed the entire previous "fixed" polling options. Now the app reports a location only if there is a cell tower change. The remote (from web) switch to "emergency" takes effect only when the app (iPhone) contacts its web server to report a location change. Now imagine that you lost your iPhone in a store (or in a ditch). You could remotely enable "emergency" only in case the iPhone detects a change in location. For that to happen, the iPhone has to move. In the previous versions, we could enable "fixed polling interval", thereby you are guaranteed to get a location in every 10-30 minutes (or the emergency mode starts in 10-30 minutes). I am great fan on Google Latitude. The previous versions of this app reported the location very accurately. With the latest revision, the app reports the location only when it detects a change in the cell tower. Also the reported location is from cell tower triangulation, not from the GPS. Hence the location accuracy is very very bad. I still could not understand why the developer removed the "fixed polling interval", when lot many other similar apps continue to offer that. In nut shell, this was a great app, but has become completely useless after the latest revision So far so good (I wrote on Aug 19, 2010) Just bought this app in the morning... Works great.. Location is generally good if you are outside.. Location is extremely accurate on emergency mode... Noticed that the app updates at 1-5 minites interval several times even after I set the interval as 30 min..Only worry is that the service including the google latitude update is dependent on the webservice provided by the developer.. If the developer backs out/ stops the webservice , this app will become useless. There are some privacy issues as well... Agreed that the webpage at device-locater.com https, but how much care the developer will take to protect the data??

So accurate today it was possible to tell which room in the house Bought this app to locate lost phones and it works great. Now can avoid calling when they are at work also. You can have alerts when they move which might be good for kids. I do not need the alerts so do not use many features.

I agree completley with the prior reviews. I use to love this app but now it only update with tower change. I use to be able to put it on emergacy mode and it would track with zero issues. That is not the case any more. I will be looking for a new app.
