DejaVoice works best with a microphone, which eliminates the need to have your phone in your face all the time. Bluetooth headsets are fully supported for both speaking and listening. Just turn on your headset, start DejaVoice, and start talking.

The difference between DejaVoice and other voice transcription apps is:

* DejaVoice is designed for business use. You can correct once or correct continually for words. In business, you can't afford to misspell your client's name or key technical or industry terms. DejaVoice lets you customize the dictionary to fit your industry.

* Audio Feedback editing. Be able to dictate while you drive, and hear back and correct text without your hands. Be able to create a note, store it, make another note, email it, and make another note and send to someone all without tapping a single button on your mobile device.

* Word list, subject list and key phrase storage. Transmit a complete word list or text list to someone else, and they can use DejaVoice as a communication tool. Just tap on the desired phrase to "Say it" remotely. An ideal tool for people who have speaking disabilities. Enter your address, food needs, or other items which must be conveyed verbally and tap what is needed.

* Caption and recorded text. For best captioning or recording you will need a remote microphone or a directional microphone. Pick up a speaker’s voice, or have them attach a lapel microphone. What the speaker says will be typed into DejaVoice. You can then email the text to yourself or another party to be corrected and stored.

Reviews

Nope. No good

This app is no good. It simply does not work. It isn’t even worth the 1 star I gave it.

Slays the Dragon

I have been using Dragon Dictation but hate it for all the reasons given in its poor reviews. DejaVoice is so much more useful. It doesn't cut out without notice or crash during dictation. Moreover, it has folders in which I can store the transcript and edit later. If you have been frustrated with Dragon you will be pleased with this. Not perfect (maybe my iPhone 4 is too small, but when I tap a word to edit it takes a bunch of tries) but very useful.

Speak it, and it will be ignored!

I'm curious. Why would a company try to develop an app that already exists as a feature within iOS powered devices? One could understand, if Apple used inferior technology to implement substandard voice recognition technology, but this is one of many features that stands out, and is recognized by those in the industry to be the gold standard in voice recognition, a standard many companies have long sought to emulate. It seems it would make more sense to add value to this unquestionably easy to use technology made available by Apple. Instead, DejaVoice adds a different and poorly implemented user interface atop the Apple technology, and claims, that somehow, they've made it better. In my experiences with DejaVoice, when it functions, it makes the easy, more difficult, and takes advantage of users who might not realize they already have the very same technology built in! Many apps which are used to create text, whether it be a note, or a novel; even a screenplay, already use the iOS provided superior voice recognition technology to write the words that may be the source of their next bestseller, movie script, or shopping list! If you feel a need for such an app, I recommend that you get to know and understand the capabilities that your iPhone, iPad, or other iOS device offers. Apps such as this make it clear that some might not recognize the incredible technologies which are made available by simply powering up their device. There are numerous free tutorials provided by Apple, and even excellent third-party books which will open your eyes to the power of the amazing tool which you hold in your hands!
