This app is a joy to use especially if you are using or have used a large format camera.

Great tutorial, interface, and applicable to real life dark room practices

So this developer has another app that looks exactly the same that goes by the name Darkr. I am certain this has been asked plenty of times, but can someone please, in simple language, explain the differences between the two if there is any? And if they are the same why not simply remove one of them from the App Store?

Two things would make this app amazing. -the ability to control how color photos are converted to BW. Like you’d use a red or green filter with a color negative. -the ability to control the transparency of the cut and patch mask Tools.

Bug: If I shoot a second and more photos in the app, the in-app gallery doesn’t make the photos visible. Only the first photo is visible. Ad: Annoying you used the header as an ad for your map app. I paid for pro features.

My local camera / film store recommended this app for me to see how some dark room processes work. It's a really nice app.

This is a fantastic app, plain and simple. It is the perfect blend of iPhone and traditional large and medium format photography. I love the control and choice you have for exposure, aperture, focus & ISO. The darkroom features are simple and effective. The app encourages (as traditional photography does) a refined process that slows the photographer down and encourages careful viewing of the subject. This is not a great app for people who want to take quick photos (or selfies) and use filters to make them look more interesting. This is an app for taking beautiful black and white photos with your iPhone. There are 2 issues I have found, neither of which have inhibited my enjoyment of the app: 1.) I only use the large and medium format options - never the 35mm because it is basically just a b&w iPhone camera. 2.) I find the burn and dodge masks are hard to control touching the screen. You can't zoom in to draw the masks, so you end up with large , imprecise masks for burn/dodge. Still, this is a five star app every day of the week.

Best black and white app I know of. Definitely gotta have it in the photo app tool kit.

So different from other photo editing apps. And I could actually figure it out in less than 10. Great!

Very well thought out and fun/easy to use. Great results. One of my top 3 photo apps. Learning a ton about darkroom development. Great work!
