Without question this is one of the best ideas and a non lethal way to protect yourself and for a parent of a daughter in college to feel a bit more comfortable knowing they have D.A.D. by their side. Easy to hold fits in palm of your hand and the strobing light and professional grade mace are great deterrents right at your fingertips. What really makes this item is the Bluetooth gps ability to create a "crowd alert" to people you choose via the app as well as people who have D.A.D. app that are within your 1-2 mile radius thus creating heroes to help you out in a situation or to contact 911. ***EVERY COLLEGE / UNIVERSITY should have their security people download this app and promote the D.A.D. with 1 in 5 young women bring sexually assaulted on college campuses this would be a welcome way to help support our students and keep campus life safe, knowing "heroes" are your community of students really sets the standard that security, safety are inclusive to getting that sought after degree. Get on board download this app help build a great network of people helping people. The potential for this product is tremendous. I'm a huge fan because I'm a women who was stalked as a teen and I have a teen going to college this fall. Let's make D.A.D. the item you can't leave home without.

App does not work correctly

I had to delete the app. I love the idea, but after I downloaded the app I added 2 contacts and it was constantly sending "in danger" text messages when I thought it was disabled. The actual security device itself is A+ on its own.

Started sending emergency alerts!!!!!

I'm not sure what happened it was sending alerts for no reason I haven't even opened the app all week.

I really like this idea but the app is in serious need of a quality developer. Very buggy. Navigation has dead-ends, no way to go back, poor input validation, and more. Be sure to look at the reviews for All Version for this app to better understand the issues people are having. - Jul 19, 2017 D.A.D. responded on Oct 13, 2017 (almost 3 months later), asking me to provide examples. This delayed response speaks volumes. I can only say I deleted this app months ago and I’m not your quality assurance testing team. Furthermore, I did provide examples/areas in the app in my original review, information that should give a development team (or single developer) areas to investigate and test. As I said originally - great idea, buggy app. I wish you the best of success. My biggest concern is an app of this nature and importance must be reliable when it is needed and used, and after using the app during my review of it indicated it’s as not ready for prime-time - to save someone’s life. All the best.

Genius idea and incredible product!!

****Updated after a year**** Still using this amazing app and product. Some people complained about it crashing, the new version works perfectly! I was on a bike ride with my two young girls, under 5, when I was about to pass out. (I have a heart condition that makes it stop beating some times.) I pressed the alert button on my D.A.D. and my parents were immediately able to call me and come to my aid, making sure me and my girls were okay. The D.A.D. is one of the greatest ways to protect yourself ever created. With this app and the Bluetooth technology it literally cannot be beat. I have NEVER felt more safe! Genius idea and incredible product!

New app is amazing!

I love this product so much! I keep one by my bedside and one in my purse. I have been so grateful to have it by my side on numerous occasions. The new app works perfectly and gives me so much piece of mind knowing my family and friends will be contacted if I’m ever in danger. Thumbs up!!!

The crowd alert is a wonderful feature. I like the idea of people nearby coming to my aid. Much quicker than 911, especially in remote locations.

We bought the new D.A.D. 2 for my 17-year-old daughter traveling by herself to Italy to be an au pair in Rome for three months. None of us have ever owned or used anything like it before. Before she left, we (her parents) downloaded the app, and my daughter did as well. We made sure we had everything set up correctly and did a couple of test alerts to make sure it was working. It seemed to be! I just wasn't quite sure if it would work with her clear over in Italy. The day she arrived in Italy she did a test on it and we did receive the alert on the app. That was nice to know it was going to work clear across the world! Just one day under her being there for a month, she and another au pair from a different city were traveling together in Naples, a more "sketchy" town in Italy. It was dark and they were wise to stay on the more crowded and lit streets. My daughter was also wearing her D.A.D. for safety. They were making their way back to their Airbnb when a man came running full speed at them, grabbed the other girl around her neck as well as grabbing her phone. My daughter used the D.A.D. and sprayed him. He let go of the other girl and she and my daughter ran off to find safety with other people. I got the alert that my daughter was in danger on my D.A.D. app. I immediately started trying to contact her, but I did not hear from her for about five minutes as both girls were trying to get to safety and figure out what had really happened. In the meantime, I had the location of where she was at on my app. I called the family that she was working for in Rome and gave them that information so she could call the police. We were blessed to have no injuries and not even anything stolen. And I feel like it was all because of the D.A.D.! It was a HUGE comfort to me knowing that I had the time and place of where it occurred and I could notify the local authorities in Italy. This app did exactly what it is supposed to do and proved itself invaluable in a situation like this. This app can save lives and WILL save lives if there you use it.
