Big Disappointment

Map is awful jumble and this is on an 8" Ipad! Can't imagine how a tourist can use. Shame it does not have the old map that was published weekly. This is a big disappointment, I thought better of CW.

This is a good supplement to the detailed paper map. It gives you a list of the day's tours and activities. Search events by time of day or scroll through the day's listings. You can filter for specific categories like kid-friendly events or evening programs. Click on each to find details, tours an directions. It can split between the list and a map, but this map is a rough compilation of icons without useful map detail. If you click on the icon or "Get Directions" in the list of activities, it opens a more detailed map with directions, distance and walking times. This is helpful for seeing how to get to any site from your current location. The drawback is that it can only show street routes so it excludes the many walking paths in the town. Still, this is a great feature. I use it even though I have been visiting here for 25 years and know my way around quite well.

Just got here, downloaded the app and searched for the visitors center. Found it in a list but no address and no directions. The map is cluttered with symbols but no labels until you click on each one. Still looking for the visitors center.

Very functional for walking around. Showed upcoming events in real time and your location on the map too! Not as useful for planning a trip, but good for when you're already here.

The map is useless. I should be able to tap on a listing and it take me to the spot on the map. It should also have addresses for each spot.

Great app. Love the layout. I just wish I could find information on what events will be happening on a day in the future. Same-day information is not helpful for trip planning.

Horrible app. Map is useless, can't find anything. When you try to link on anything on "what's happening today" the app closes. Deleted it and grabbed a paper map and paper copy of events.

Lots of minor details make this app annoying. I used it to help plan our trip because Colonial Williamsburg does not offer any other map on line. Some simple fixes would make the app much more user-friendly and useful. Bus stops and Parking lots have the same icon — at least the color should be different. None of the locations are identified on the map itself making it very hard to see things in relation to each other. Map needs a title at the point of each icon. The items in the List should link to a location on the Map. Currently the only link is from an icon on the Map to an item in the List.

I downloaded it in preparation of our trip at the end of May, and I immediately deleted it. The map is such a mess, all of the icons are piled on top of each other, so there is no way to click on something easily when looking at the whole map, but when you zoom in so you can select an icon, you can't tell how far away something is and how to really get there. The ease of using it was a -5, so I dumped it, and I will use the website to plan anything, and a paper map when I get there.
