Worst experience ever

Avoid this game at all cost. I wasted my money, you shouldn't have to.

This is Right on!

Fellow reviewers, this is a set piece, 2-day battle involving three armies representing almost 100,000 men taking 87 turns to complete. It's gonna take a while to play! It's not like most Hexwar games that focus on small, short battle scenarios that can be played quickly (or on a phone). I love that Hexwar is catering to the battle enthusiast by moving towards complicated, set piece battles like Shiloh, Gettysburg, and Waterloo. I have them all and love them because they're so challenging to play. Keep bringing these types of games on!

Epic battle now part of the system

I have the original board game which takes about 100+ hours to play and a few hours to setup. It also takes the space of a 4'x3' playing area. In comparison, the IOS version is quicker, however the current game mechnics of I-GO-then-U-GO army movement/combat is outdated for this size battle. Recommend developers break up the movements/combat between groups of units within leader command radius (alternating with smaller groups between AI/Player) so there is less down time. This has already exist in the modern version of GBACW board game(s), it should apply here also. A two player verson of this game would be welcome too.

Boooooooring!!!!!!

All their games are great. But don't spend you're money on this one. You only have 14 turns. But actions starts on turn 10. A lot of movement little or no action. It may be historically correct but horrible to play.

Great BUT....

It lags ALOT. Especially when I put it on Fast Forward. Please update and fix the lag. And give us an Antietam, Bull Run and Gettysburg.

Epic deep play. Enjoyed more with each play.

The title says it all. It is a big epic game. It is a very good conversion/update from an old board 'monster-size' wargame from the same name. The more I play, the more I appreciate it. Plays fine on my iPad Air 2. I use the different levels of the zoom feature to plan/coordinate my attacks. I've up my rating for this game. Waiting for the same update for Gleam of Bayonets (battle of Antietam).

Slowwwww

GreaZZyOne

I give it two stars as I like the concept of the game...but it's slow to say the least. Makes it almost unplayable...well it is pretty much unplayable unless you have several hours of nothing else to do. Would have more playable if broken down to smaller and more manageable scenarios, then maybe ending in a final longer and larger set piece battle. Too many leader pieces also

Blah!

Glad it only set me back 2 bucks. I have never experienced a less playable game- I usually enjoy anything from HexWars and Hunted Cow. If you play Union side, you wait until the end of the game before you get to do anything. Appears all units are represented, but don't waste your time moving all- Fourteen turns is not long enough to get forces to the front. Biggest issues- time limit of 14 turns, too many leaders (lieutenants? C'mon!), and artillery can move at a ridiculously fast rate regardless of terrain. Epic is fine, but make the game last 50 turns. Expected to see some scenarios with Bloody Pond and the Peach Orchard..... guess not. Please fix this shameful effort.....

Need more!

The Confederacy

We need more of these games! I have all of the War between the States or the Civil War games as the Yankees call it. I love this game. It is very realistic and would love to have one about Nathan Bedford Forest and the Confederate Calvary. Please make soon!
