Excellent read!

Enjoyed the story and the replay value. Got all the achievements for the story though all I can say is maybe add a few more where it's difficult to get unless you choose the right path? Besides that great book!

Wonderful and beautiful

I've done several of these text-based choose-your-own-adventure-story-games, and this was by far the most interesting and best so far. It was so good, in fact, that I didn't mind being charged for the rest of the game after the first chapter. It was definitely worth the cost. It would have been better to be charged from the start, I think. The story is great, and the options tend to be more logical, and the results of my decisions made more sense than in other adventures. I feel I stumbled on a little gem here. Bravo!

Most excellent

One of the better Choice of Games offerings out there. Kevin Gold is an excellent writer, and he has weaved together a great little story about the ancient city of Alexandria. If you enjoyed Choice of Robots, or just like good stories, give this one a try.

Wonderful

The writing is absolutely gorgeous, no surprise as the writers previous work was also excellent. Not sure why people are complaining about paying, perhaps this is their first purchase from this company? I would ignore reviews about that as they have no relevance to the actual story - which is very well written and full of lovely details that captivate you and keep you invested. My favorite entry thus far. Great job!

One of kind (For me)

I don't usually try to get all of the endings in these games, but I couldn't stop in this. I find it wonderful that it shows how the character shapes the outcome in the end. This is a truly wonderful game by the man who made the equally wonderful game, Choice of Robots. Myself would love it if you made another historic choice game in the future.

A surreal experience

When I read the summary for this game, I believed that it would just be another game that I played as long as it was free, but I ended up buying it for $2.99. The story makes you feel like you are the character much better than any other choice game I've played. It combined real history, fictional speculation, and a bit of well timed humor beautifully! I've played the game 4 times over, and I still want to explore more paths and branches. Overall, I would say that for the price, it was worth the 3 bucks for such an excellent experience! 6 stars!

A remarkable work

Choice of Alexandria is the second game written by Kevin Gold, the first being the widely acclaimed Choice of Robots. Both are incredibly rich interactive novels that reward multiple playthroughs. Alexandria is worthy of my highest recommendation.

Very good!

I liked the characters and setting very much. Your choices are important and you are given a reasonable amount of choices. It was interesting that the game ends with your lasting impact on the world, and I really liked finding out how far into the future I affected the lives of others.

Excellent

Intricate, thoughtful and poised. This game is easily worth the asking price. With so many consequences to nearly every action it is simply impossible to not do multiple play throughs. I heartily recommend Alexandria to anyone fond of ChoiceofGames or partial to Egyptian history. To the Author: thank you! I love how you push your stories through morally grey areas. There was no pressure to be the good guy, the bad guy, the overachiever or the lounger. The player can play however they want, and I loved it! My only complaint (minor) is how shallow the relationships are with all of the characters. Compare the relationship with Ptolemy IV to the one the player has with the robot they create in your other game ChoiceofRobots; I felt that the machine was more impressionable, pliable and conversational than the boy here, even if one opted to raise him. Also the romances were unbearably dull and ridiculously short lived. In fact, one can only get married (in EVERY circumstance) if one or more people die. That's pretty sad now that I think about it ? Other than those complaints this game, and story, are solid. The best parts for me were the ones when you went out of your way to immerse the player into his or her surroundings. Especially near the beginning when you put us on the streets of Alexandria. For a brief moment, I actually felt like I was there. You possess a powerful command of language and I hope you have more games planned out for the future. I know I'll be buying :)

Well Worth It

Mimi_Angel

I played the first chapter online, and after falling in love I decided to buy the full game. Honestly, it was so well worth it. It's a short, but very complex story. One little choice and your whole ending is changed. As I played through the first time I wondered why I was enjoying it so much. I came to the end and realized that the author, Kevin Gold, also wrote another one of my personal favorite COGs- Choice of Robots. If you liked Gold's style in COR; you'll really enjoy this novel. I've played COR multiple times and still haven't unlocked all of the Achievements. I played this one for roughly two weeks, lightly I may add, and was able to unlock every achievement. I still like to replay it though, because I enjoy the over all story.
