Fantastic Training Software

I’ve been using this program since it was called Personal Chess Trainer, and I absolutely love it. The units start out at a very easy level, like the easy problems in Puzzle Rush on chess.com, but they gradually become more complex, until they are satisfying to solve for someone at my level (2200 USCF, ~2300 Blitz on chess.com). And like Puzzle Rush, it’s pleasantly addictive. I realize that $15 is a bit more than the average app, but considering the wealth of content you get for the price, it’s a steal. I heartily recommend it to my students and to anyone else who is serious about getting better at chess. If you’re a fan of chess improvement books, consider this to be your one-stop app for doing a version of Axel Smith and Hans Tikkanen’s “Woodpecker Method.”

This app is ridden with bugs and less features compared to the original version. improve that one instead of revamping the everything. In the training for openings you use to be able to play both sides … this version doesn’t allow this. Also, the openings are written in subtitles. For example it, Slav defense, you give variants of the Slav defense. Please fix this in your new version.

I love chessimo … the old version was the best! The new version has been very buggy, I can’t play tactics, the module just locks up. The old interface was quick, and easy to use, I’m glad I kept it installed on my old phone, I’ll play that until they fix the new version.
No numbers or letters!? Why?

As a beginner, I am learning the numbers and letters of the chess pieces and plays. Sadly, this app DOES NOT have these inscriptions on the board. Learning becomes a bit frustrating when you count from one end of the board or say your ABCs to understand the right moved played and why. Please fix this small issue. Thanks!
Crashes after purchasing all units

The first version of this app was great, so I wanted to try out the new version. The demo worked nicely and so I decided to buy the full package for $14.99. Unfortunately as soon as I did so, I could no longer access any of the tactics problems: the screen freezes as soon as I try to open any of them. Will request a refund.

I can’t say enough good things about the tactics this app offers-excellent puzzles and great progression in terms of difficulty. Unfortunately the app itself is full of bugs which makes it very frustrating to use. There are literally too many to list, but one that has popped up recently is when you click on train the window freezes. You can’t tap any of the modules unless you scroll the window several times, then it gets “unstuck”. This isn’t to mention pieces that seem to “fly” off the board at times, or odd, sometimes even negative numbers being displayed in the timer window. I’m not sure it’s worth the trouble to the developers but I would recommend rigorous user testing, or at least test themselves to catch some of these. It’s a shame there are so many issues because the tactics are so darn good.
Cannot Restore Purchase

I have purchased Chessimo twice. Once when it was available only online, and once inside the app store for mobile. I recently received a new phone. When I select "restore purchase" inside the mobile app, it will not restore my purchase. All attempts to contact the developer for assistance have failed.

New app doesn’t allow me to login with existing Chessimo online account that has all of the puzzles. It won’t allow for restore. Any help on getting this resolved?
