Very good for a free app

This chess app works well if you can stand being interrupted by ads when starting, but also in mid game if you play too long. It won’t let you make an illegal move but there isn’t a clear indication that’s why you can’t. Also, if the game ends in a checkmate, you can’t recover it and restart, a helpful learning tool. The graphics are not fancy but they get the job done.

Sometimes when moving a pawn two spaces as a first move the computer takes the pawn as if it was only moved one space.

The in between advertising of other games when u start up the chess game is hard to remove to many ads also sometimes the game freezes and it moves are inadvertently

Computer stealing my pieces

Sometimes when playing against a computer my pieces will simply vanish. I assume that the computer is neither a god nor a wizard and that this is a bug. It ruins the game.

I love chess it keeps you engaged and is an amazing way to learn new ways of problem solving and thinking. This app at the higher levels refuses to continue the game and will just move a piece back and forth until the player makes the decision to move in a devastating way to keep the game going. At points where you have a solid trap going the computer will make illegal moves with knights and pawns to give itself the advantage and turn the game to a swift defeat for the player. I’m sad to say I’ll be deleting the app, but I think the app needs to be relooked at for the higher levels of play.
