Fun, very useful, but primitive

I like this app & often play it as the last thing I do before going to sleep. I’ve played this app regularly for several years. Overall I like it, but there are several things really holding it back: 1. Tactic ratings are highly inflated. I’m rated 2000 in the app, but only around 1350 in real life. 2. En passant captures are too easy to overlook when they are the first move of a tactic, as in it is not obvious enough on the board that en passant is even an option. It’s frustrating to lose points on a puzzle over something dumb like that. 3. Castling, somehow, is not an option at all. 4. Lack of admin power and oversight. There are several regular players who spam the comment boxes of tactics with extreme vulgarity/hatred/racism and somehow they are not banned. These comments will eventually get deleted by admin, but those players of course should be removed completely. Recently, Small Fish chess engine was integrated into the app so that you may see computer suggested moves (...after you have made your own attempt at the tactic). This was a great addition & really helps you explore alternative lines.

Great app for killing a few minutes with a chess challenge

I’ve always enjoyed this app and rated in the 4 star range but the recent addition of SmallFish integration makes it a solid 5 stars. The comments section can be annoying but you don’t really need to read that to get a lot out of the app. And the comments can sometimes be kind of funny too.

Some of the tactics are wrong

Halfbeer

This would be a great app if the tactics were valid. I tried two tactics. The first was good, but the second required a solution that assumed that the opponent wouldn't take my queen when it was a valid move and would've saved the opponent from checkmate.

Great app

Really like the simplicity. Good for drilling fundamentals.

The tactics in the games are not always 100 percent correct

Especially like the explanations and the player commentary!

Fun

Crowd sourced puzzles, so a few bugs but mostly excellent. The non free version has extra features and several choices of better display formats.

Cute, practical

I love this app. All users like you, can upload crowdsourced tactics, its got a pretty nice community, and you can talk to each other. There are a handful of peculiar people like Neikoserge, sverra, and myself (Cleverconure) :). I love you guys. I gave this app 4 stars because it's not particularly extensive. More impactingly, the app creator doesn't regularly work on this app anymore. The tactics you create aren't organized in any way (i.e. Alphabetically), castling isn't currently supported, and the comments should have more flexibility imo (i.e. Notifications). Overall, this is a great app because it is the tactics that matter most. Moreover, the crowdsourcing gives the possibility of solving tactics you've already seen before, because sometimes people make the same tactics. Imo this is a great plus.
