I like the training mode for beginners like myself. Compatible with gamecenter so you can vs friends. Lots of skins to choose from. Great app!
Everything you could want for learning chess

Has plenty of excellent features such as "force move" where the computer can move your pieces for you or you're stuck. Training mode gives you visual feedback of potential moves and how useful they might be. The A.I is particularly good in this game and I enjoy the heck out of it!

I enjoy this ap. I like the way it lets you go backwards through your moves. It is very handy to be able to try different strategies from the same point in the game.
