Best game ever!!

I am in 3rd grade. I really like chesskid. It is the best game I have ever played. If you want to learn how to play chess, this is the game for you! My school got chesskid for all the gifted students. Everyone liked it so much they made a chess club. There are clubs in chesskid. There are also leaderboards for the clubs, there is even a leaderboard for the world, leader boards are to show how good people are at a certain thing in chesskid. I think the lessons are very helpful. You can play chess with friends and family, even if they are not in your house. You can also play chess with people around the world.

Lacks a bunch of things

I like the app, don't get me wrong. 1- I can't monitor my son from the iPad app, I have to log in on the site to see his progress 2- I don't know how many games and puzzles I have to play to get to the next video in line in the lessons features. It is stuck at "close, but no stalemate" same problem for my son, he is stuck on a different video. (And yes, I know I can access the videos from the library, but I don't know if I am doing them in the app suggested order, and it is not the same. The lesson feature is Broken) 3- I was at 50% level by just watching the second video, and there is no progress regardless of games played and puzzles solved. ( I like to have an idea of what the goal is before I move up levels in the Classes section. My son is kind of frustrated. Who cares about stars. Progress level is a big thing, and being able to see the next video lesson is an even bigger thing for my son to learn. 4-in my profile, it always changes a "p" with an "o" whenever I type my email. I changed my email, but my new email also has a "p" and also did it. Whatever bug that is, is kind of messed up. 5- I should be able to set the sound off in settings so it doesn't intervene with my music when I am playing. Just add a sound effect "off" feature in settings 6- I don't understand how it picked up my son's name in my profile instead of mine. I had to change that manually. 7- last but no least, I will repeat the first one. Because I should not have to go to the site to monitor my son. The app should have that feature, and it should be available depending who logs in. It's a matter of setting profiles correctly. Again, I love the app, but because of it, is why I am writing a review. Fix it, and I will change my review. You are welcome.

Good app, but missing features

Crazysonicfan01

There are some very important things that one on the website but not the app, including stats, and a page for your account details and settings such as themes, and I wish the app had these things... but otherwise very good

Great for kids ages 7-13

Perfect for Kids

This is an awesome app for 1st graders to 8th graders. Although it is not as good as Chesskid.com it is still very good. The lessons are fun, and you can play live with real people. Grandmasters and masters make interactive lessons.

Patzerchess

My 5 year old is getting really good at chess and is learning concepts I didn't learn until I was an adult and she enjoys it all on the chess kid app

Eh

SagNag123

This app is great for learning chess but what's really annoying and I think insanely stupid is that every time you get a lesson wrong, you have to wait 12 hours. I think this app would turn out way better without that because people are gonna get frustrated if they get off by 5% and wait 12 hours. Please take away the time.

Great for families!

I play with my nieces and nephew, who live several hundred miles away. Let's us keep connected and having fun together, even though we are separated. From a parent's perspective, the lack of chat feature means that only chess can ever happen on this app.
