Toggle the time display between black & white to match your device with a simple tap and change its transparency with a swipe up or down - anything from jet black and pure white all the way down to barely visible for a more subtle effect.

Tap the mode icon in the bottom left hand corner of the screen to switch between Chameleon Mode where the background colour of the screen is constantly updated to match whatever is behind it, and Live Camera Mode where the background becomes a live video feed.

Remember, Chameleon Clock needs you to make it look great so make sure you put something interesting behind it. And we'd love to see the results so send us photos or screengrabs and we'll post them on our blog - http://chameleonclock.tumblr.com/

Needs iOS 11 update
Jackielea

The developer needs to do an update to be compatible with the iPhone iOS 11 update. I bought this app a long time ago, enjoyed it, use it for work. I’m not happy that I spent money on this app and the iOS 11 update was a while ago now so the developer has had plenty of time to do their update. I feel like I just threw my money away. My advise, just get a free one, there’s many apps like this.

Meh.

Photo background only really works if propped up, otherwise the camera won't work. This really limits the functionality. Can't customize font for time and is hard to read in upright mode. I jumped the gun on this due to an online review by John Brownlee from Cult of Mac Mobile. Last time I take a recommendation from him. I wish I had my 99 cents back.

Awesome

Works great, looks great.

Does not work!!!

The chameleon aspect of the app would be very cool, but it does not work. Instead of a see through appearance, it turns the scene behind it sideways or upside down and does NOT put it in perspective.

Like it but Needs more options / controls

Like it very much; it needs a few more options like being on when your phone is locked, but lots of potential.

Is it just me?

I love this simple yet elegant (and minimalist) app. Well worth three times the price. Is it just me, or did anyone else notice the time on the launch icon? Waving the flag of subliminal activism?

Ok but buggy
Kevin Morris

Works as advertised but buggy. Camera mode doesn't always start properly and Cham mode is useless as it doesn't pick colors well. This is really an interesting idea that could be good with bugs fixed and these improvements: Change font type and size Ability to move clock display on screen Capture an image to use as background Include alarm clock function Zoom and pan to be able to get exact background to match perspective These would make it worth $1. Otherwise skip this app.

Works great, more options would be awesome.

The app works as intended. The minimal clock display is very pleasing, and both the chameleon and the camera backgrounds work fine. Additional display options like font type/size/color would be great. Also, it would be nice to be able to freeze/zoom/pan the camera background so that you can match the display and the real background more seamlessly.

great idea but...

Good idea, looks catchy. I'm sure they're going to make a killing on the 99c sales. The concept is good, but it just doesn't work. fortunately its not their fault. its the fault of the hardware. the aspect ratio of where the iPad stands, vs where the camera is looking is off, way off. so its basically a $0.99 clock.
