Excessive Adverts

Weekly, watch 48 hours and 60 minutes. Initially, the adverts were not a big deal, but now they are not only excessive (average 4 commercial breaks in just the first 20 minutes, which each breack containing more and more adverts) but the streaming ads continuously get stuck and the app freezes up. To add insult to injury, after restarting the app, you have to start the item you are watching from the beginning, because if you try to scroll forward (which is very difficult on an iPhone with any accuracy), you get all the adverts which would have happened to that point all at once, starting the absurd process all over again. Now, if you want to pay $10/month, you can have an ad free world. Far as I'm concerned that's a rip off since I already pay for this channel with my service provider. On the other hand, if you watch using a broswer, there are far fewer advert breaks and far fewer adverts at each break (they don't increase in number the longer you watch). Shame on CBS. 11/10/17: Update: 48 hours full episodes are gone and replaced with ads only. Seriously, CBS?
Best 24x7 video streaming and written content News App

Far better than the CNN App or Fox News App. More objective reporting with up to date content as well as an always available button for viewing ‘Live’ video news ( with no Cable TV login credentials required ). I had no idea they did a 24x7 ‘TV’ ( live video ) news prior to this App.

I like the clean, concise design. The reporting is good, & the option for live news a plus. Also nice is the ability to catch up with both the CBS Evening News & 60 Minutes features.
Crashes EVERY TIME!

On iOS 11, it crashes every time. I am uninstalling the app - it crashes and then plays two separate streams on top of each other (repeating earlier content) until the app crashes again. Also a lot of non-news designed to fill air time and reporting is very one-sided.

Overall, this is a solid APP, though my one complaint is the constant audio issues when using the App for more than 5 minutes. Think Alvin & the Chipmunks. At first I thought it was an issue with Chromecast, but it does the same thing with the App embedded on my TV. Oh well, it free and the only news source that streams live; none of the others do. CNN expects you to pay y watch their content.
Keeps freezing or crashing

I love this app! But I think after the latest update it keeps freezing or crashing on both my iPhone and iPad. Just wanted to let you know. Your news coverage qualifies as fair and balanced.

I’m now using the iPhone X and I must say this app by far looks the greatest on my screen. Thank you for the screen optimization. I love the new layout and how the text scrolling is ultra smooth while flow ng freely with the included captions and photos. Nice job - We’ll Done CBS!
