crashes continually and doesn't save work

avoidcartomapcad

Avoid this at all costs. It crashes continually and does not save your work. Neither Apple nor Aneba will refund your purchase.

Nice idea but doesn't work properly

Frustrated_cajah

Bought this app and I totally want my money back. I'm a land surveyor and work in .dwg and .dxf drawings. I am not able to open drawings emailed in those formats and it freezes up my iPad when I try. When my iPad doesn't freeze up my email screen is filled with weird characters at which point I have to turn my iPad off and then back on. I would love if this app does what it's supposed to, if not I want my money back.

Don't buy!!!

Calebrox7465true

I have purchased this app and tried to find a way to put dwg. Files on it but it just crashes or acts like it is loading forever then shuts down. This product is junk, I want to get my money back and give this app back, it does no good to me if it don't work like it says it's supposed to!

Very disappointed! Get the free AutoCad ws instead!

arako

I've never owned an app as worthless as this one! For that price I had expected a lot more. But the biggest problem is the constant crashes and you won't be able to see every detail in your .dwg files. Get the free AutoCad ws instead, it's not perfect, but much better and free!

Great basic CAD

Pndreader

This is the best basic CAD program for the iPad. I have previously tried all the others I could find in the AppStore, but only this one comes close to my everyday PC CAD program -Intergraph Smartsketch. While at my workplace AutoCAD is the standard and I have training in it, I've always found Smartsketch better for quick simple things like floor plans. I took a chance with Cartomap CAD since it was $20 and had no reviews... but what a lucky strike! After about 30 minutes of playing around with it and not really looking at any instructions, I was productively making a plan of my bathroom remodel. While it takes some getting used to, most of the major features are there and work well. The import feature leaves something to desire, which was originally what i was looking for, but there isn't a program I've used so far on PC that can accurately import. My problem was I could not get a pre- made drawing to come in at the right scale, so none of the new work on the drawing in the program would be at the original's scale. When making original drawings, this program is very intuitive, and the closest thing I've found to the aforementioned Smartsketch. Especially handy is the snap function that lets you accurately pick points. The only two problems so far (I'm sure I'll find more with use) are : 1) I can't see how to print from the program. You can send a file via email, but it is still a dwg, dxf, or native format so unless you have another program that can print these formats (from the iPad) then you are stuck sending to a PC to print or doing a screen cap and printing as a photo from the iPad. 2) There is no area fill hatch function, so I can't show different materials or areas I'd otherwise want to highlight. Overall, I think future updates can only improve this great program.

Not what I wanted

Mr._Paul

I wanted a cad tool for designing simple things to build in the workshop. It doesn't seem to have a way to do basic things like draw a 36" line. You can draw a line or a rectangle, but you have no idea of the size until you go measure bit later. Very disappointing, and way overpriced.

Worthless

Atelitsiputelitsi

Big promises but no substance. So far I have only managed to draw about twenty lines and then menu disappears and you can't do anything, not even start a new drawing because you don't have a menu. Wasted 20 dollars.

not worth the money spent

n2nn

Another one of those apps that I wish I could get a refund. Very basic CAD and hard to navigate. I was hoping that the bad ratings were not true, but alas I found out the $$$ way. I only wished Apple would have a policy to force developers to issue trial versions instead of having to pay this amount to find out it's bad.

It is fine, if only it would export

C-12

I have had this app for about half of a year now and it still won't allow me to export the document that I work on. It starts to load on the dropbox feature, however it never finishes. I cannot export it to my iTunes either, because it will not recognize that the files exist. They do exist though and once you use the instructions manual it is not that hard to use. If it would export I would give it a higher score, but for now I am being a little generous as exporting is kind of the most important feature to me right now.
