There are only 5 B&W filters available after downloading; all others are for purchase only. App description is misleading; it would be better to have clearly stated upfront what filters you get after download, and what is available for purchase.

Update August 8, 2019 Love the new Custom Canvas Tool. Thank for the update. The only thing I would like to see added to the app would to be add to add text to your photos so you can watermark them. Right now I have to export into another app to do that. November 15, 2018 I bought this app a while back and don’t know what happened to the review I left, maybe I deleted it by accident. When I first bought the app, the app would not save edited photo at high Rez. Emailed the developer and said higher Rez was coming. And it now saves high Rez edit. Also ask if the EXIF data could be save to edit photo and that has now been added. For every one complaining about the app not being free that’s just not right you can download and use the app with limited function just enough to let you see if you like it or not. Other app that I’ve used that was free is a color story it’s free but you have to pay for the filters scratches and color fog. So I see no different with this app. So download it and give it a try you might just be surprised. Update 6-3-19 This app just keeps getting better and better. I ask the developer if there’s anyway he could add the filters from vintage lab and to add the ability to add a watermark without having to leave the Carbon app and he said it was a good suggestion and it was possible. But he did give me a preview of what they had in store for the app Like canvas controls (black color, shadows), more filters (sepia, tones etc), formulas (so that you can save a certain combination of filters), and favorite filters. I would love to have the option to save combinations of filters as my own preset and definitely would like to be able to save my favorite filters because there’s so many to chose from.
Best BNW filters out there

This app provides the best top quality BNW filters out there. I don’t have any of the other filter packs that you can purchase. However, the small price for the expanded full collection of BNW filters is so worth it. It has made some not so great photos out of camera look AMAZING. I get so many comments on my BNW photos posted on IG that came from using this app. Highly recommend!

I am 53 years old and a bit of a tech junkie. I took up photography again a number of years ago because I just love the art form. Well I quickly realized, over the years the software has opened up a whole new world to those of use with a creative side that is always gnawing at us, nipping at normal, day after day. You can, and most do, get overwhelmed by the obscene number of photo editing, filtering, tuning, etc. apps or add ons so at some point if we are serious about our craft, we become pretty discerning about which apps we add to the tool bag. So, this one made the cut because 1) Great, clean filters (not something I already have with Lr or anything else - truly different) 2) It’s not just B&W (I’ll let you figure that one out) 3) This company is smart - You are not going to make many friends trying to take on Adobe Lr and honestly I love everything Adobe. My worrkflow already takes too lions and makes me angry so don’t piss off Adobe. So they didn’t, they made their filters available as an add on for Lr. Very smart. 4) They are Incredibly enthusiastic about their product and they are responsive to customers. I love that! Well guys/gals and onward - we photographers need you!!!

I have been through tons of b&w apps and Carbon is the first one that gives professional , quality results. I absolutely love all the presets and tools. Edited photos are crisp and dramatic. The ap is also VERY user friendly. The hashtag feature is the cherry on the cake. This editor is worth every penny. Highly recommended.

If your a pro or hobbyist you will get want your looking for from this app. I’m a pro and when I shoot with my iPhone I use this app to enhance some of my black & white shots or even shots from my camera uploaded to my phone. Now it’s available for photoshop and Lightroom. Great for beginners and pros alike.
