Apple, Please Remove This App From The App Store

Ken R

It boggles the mind why Apple hasn't already pulled this app from the App Store. This developer has positioned this app as a "Secure" e-mail client—PGP secure. Well, I purchased this app over 2 months ago to find it cannot decrypt PGP encrypted attachments—this app's flagship feature. And, the fixes were nowhere to be found. There were a slew of other serious bugs as well—one's that could cause you to lose messages. I soon grew tired of the customer disrespect, and sought and acquired a refund. Then approximately 1 week later, I get a reply from Jude—apologizing for missing my posts and the serious bugs. Then, FINALLY, an update appeared that listed a lot of bug fixes. So, I decided to give this app another shot. Guess what? STILL NO PGP DECRYPTION!!! 2 more updates and STILL NO PGP DECRYPTION!!! I’m done permanently this time. APPLE, PLEASE PULL THIS APP FROM THE APP STORE BEFORE SOMEONE GETS HURT!!!! Response To Developer Response: What a load of garbage! You know darn well Canary's support of PGP is a complete train wreck! And, you've fired your former subcontracted tech support service provider, "Canny" to erase all that extremely negative feedback your app . In my attempt to access my original issue reports I sent way back in January 2018 (to copy & paste so I don‘t have repeat the typing of the same information), I can no longer access the posts from Jude with Canny. So, if you want my issue report, access my original 1/29/18 post that took someone a month to address. Perhaps you can still access those Canny posts on your end. The main problem I'm having is reading encrypted pdf documents (received faxes) from our Faxage fax service provider that can be opened without issue using GPGSuite with Apple Mail on MacOS. Find & read my original detailed posts.

GARBAGE. ABSOLUTE GARBAGE.

This app: Does NOT work with Apple Watch 3. Offers absolutely ZERO CUSTOMER SUPPORT even after repeated attempts to get responses over the course of three days. Does NOT offer ANYTHING that functions better than the native Gmail or IOS Mail apps. Does NOT retrieve and display all encrypted mail. Is MUCH SLOWER at retrieving mail than any other IOS app. Often times repeatedly alerts you of the same email needlessly. They want $9.99 for this junk? I WOULDNT USE THIS FOR MY EMAIL CLIENT IF THEY PAID ME $9.99 EVERY DAY!! Just garbage. Dont waste your data downloading this or seconds of your life trying to get any assistance from their nonexistent customer support. I would not use this app

Read receipt not working for the past week

Out of the blue I noticed that read receipts are no longer working. As of 30 April.

Problem fixed!

dooped by the app

So I first had a signature issue. I brought to tech support’s attention. Now it’s all good to go! Thanks

watchOS Complication support

Thresher the Shark

The watchOS version of Canary Mail needs to add the ability to have a complication on watch faces ASAP!

Liked it okay until it crashed and lost my draft

I paid to download Canary (didn’t realize there is a trial period?), have been using it for two days so far and liking it pretty well. It seems quite robust. But as I was wrapping up an important email this morning - one that will be difficult to reconstruct - the app crashed and no draft was saved. I’ve looked everywhere. I feel insecure now about using the app if auto save isn’t functioning as I type. Canary was the only app open on my iPad at the time and for some reason went *poof.*

Battery life issues

Splinter Alpine

I have been using canary for several months now and really like it. The latest update however has left my battery draining very rapidly something like 40% during the day when I only check my email maybe once or twice. Please fix this bug ASAP as I love the app otherwise.

Quite good, needs the ability to turn off annoying notifications

seeminglyrob

Good design, decent feature set, and encryption by default is nothing to sneeze at. Overall I'm pleased, this may be enough to lure me away from Airmail. Gripes: constant notifications nagging about product features, with no way to turn them off. It also takes too many taps to switch between accounts when not using the unified inbox. Lastly, it desperately needs keyboard support (there is precisely zero support atm). If those change, I'll update my review.

Had to switch apps

PrincessMassacre

It provides a good bang for the buck feature wise and in terms of security. But if you run into an issue or bug, you’re on your own. Support doesn’t respond to emails or check their instant messages that are so highly regarded in the app. Email drafts don’t render for me properly at all and this issue still hasn’t been addressed. I had to go back to newton mail because of this.
