I download this app bc it was free. After you create an account it is only free for the trial period. Hiya is FREE & works great. If an app isn’t totally free the developers should State This before you download, install & give them your eMail.

Aggressive ads

When I tried to look up a number, I got a non-closable interactive ad. I had to close the whole app to get out of it. Getting away from aggressive, sleazy advertising was the whole point if downloading this. Will not use again.

Doesn’t work as advertised — if at all.

Lot of problems. I bought the home Call Control Home because I liked that I could monitor calls from my iPhone. No way. The call log does not record calls, blocked or otherwise. Instead, it occasionally records gibberish— phone numbers with 4 digits or 20 digits; no actual phone numbers. And it hasn’t recorded anything for a week. So I have no idea if it’s doing anything. Also, it keeps shutting down so I have to unplug and re-plug it. I could go on but the bottom line is the home unit is garbage.

I have been very pleased with the recent improvements in Call Control Home. There are still some Unknown Number log entries and some entries with an incorrect number of digits (numbers too short or too long), and I’m not sure ALL calls are being logged, but the box and app are starting to become much more useful. The support staff is very friendly and helpful. I have provided them with some screenshots and problem reports, and those (and reports from other customers) have resulted in a better product, which is a tribute to their responsiveness. When the last few bugs are worked out I am planning to become an actual paying customer! Update: I’m glad to hear that there will be a new update coming soon! But my recent experience to date (as of today, April 7) is very positive, to the point where I just bought a yearly subscription to the app. I don’t know if every single problem has been resolved yet ( I was just notified April 6 of the new update coming, so maybe not ), but I am pleased enough to give my financial support. I have to say that working with the developers and support team has been a very pleasant experience, and truly a two-way conversation. Great people to work with! Now the hard part falls to me - mainly logging unwanted calls and adding them to my Blocked list, and new desirable ones to my Allowed list. I’ve been wanting this ever since I first saw a review in the Wall Street Journal months ago. Thanks, support team and developers!

Customer support lacking

Good luck cancelling

It doesn’t work as promised even after manually adding numbers to block using both of their methods. Support takes over a day to respond and the only way to contact them is email. Only one person ever responds and it’s always with the same canned responses. Not helpful!

Short time using

I’ve only had the app for two days one thing I can add right now is that I wish there was a way to directly connect my call list to this app so that the number could be easily transferred but calls trying to remember the number and making sure that I have don’t put in a wrong number has been one of my biggest concerns right now other than that it seems to be working just fine
