Doesn’t teach you grammar.

If you don’t pay, it doesn’t teach you any of the grammar. Grammar is one of the most important parts of any language and without it the words don’t make sense. Also without paying you don’t have access to review any of the words you learned so it’s extremely hard to remember the words.
Speaking Is Broken, Free Verson Isn't Good

The speaking practice on this app is broken. It marks me wrong or right when I haven't even finished saying the sentence. How do you know I pronounced everything correctly when I only said half of the sentence? If you want a free app, look elsewhere. Busuu requires you to buy a subscription to review weak vocabulary, which feels like a basic feature to me rather than a premium feature. If you're really stubborn about using Busuu, then get a flashcard app and put the Busuu vocabulary in there. The app also constantly asks you to buy a subscription, and it is extremely annoying. I think Duolingo and Memrise are better alternatives to Busuu. If you want feedback from natives, use HelloTalk or HiNative.

I am impressed with how others are so helpful when they give feedback to a exercise and ask you to correct it, again. I am also impressed that it requires you to record yourself pronouncing sentences in the language you’re currently learning. So cool!!! I love it.

Imagine neglecting your own app so much that you don't even bother to solve bugs that force a restart 90% of the time. I've had to restart dozens of lessons because the team has neglected their app. I wrote a review a while ago talking about the "Put the words in the correct order" Exercise. If words at the end of the sentence appear near the bottom of the word bank, then when as you complete the sentence, those words scroll out of view. There is no scrolling in this exercise, so you can't click on those lost words. If you get a long sentence, you have to get lucky with word placement or else you must restart the lesson. The first time I commented on this, I was told to go email the company myself. I'm not going to do that. It's your job to fix your own app, and it's embarrassing to see that after 6 months this game-breaking error has not been fixed. The fix is simple, too. More than that, it serves to prove that not a single person at Busuu is going through the app, since this error is so blatantly obvious that it would be noticed within five of the later lessons. All you have to do is enable scrolling. It already exists in other exercises.
Premium is worth it!

Purchased the Spanish premium version & it’s been a great investment. Honestly, I enjoy this app more the some other learning apps. As you go along it gets you fully submerged in the language by having Spanish instructions. I really enjoy the part of getting graded by native speakers. One thing I wish it had was a section similar to ‘weak word’ but all grammar. Grammar has been a bit of a struggle & it would be nice to have a section dedicated to fixing grammar mistakes you’ve made. Other than that this app has been truly beneficial!
