3D Touch

wraithequestrain

Force Touch is the name of the technology for trackpads on the recent versions of MacBooks. On iPhones it's called 3D Touch, which isn't really the same thing (the screen can be pressed down, or at least feels like it can be pressed down).

Great Start for this App

i’ve used several reddit apps and i love the UI of this app the best; very intuitive and smooth. lots of great potential here. however, i do have 2 criticisms. 2) the image viewer does need a little work in my opinion. certain images from imgur come through as low res and becomes illegible. 3) after purchasing remove ad option, removing the purchase button itself would be ideal. keep up the great work, Alex! i really think you have something here.

Buggy

I really like the interface but the app needs work. Audio from videos continues to play after leaving the built in viewer. The app begins to lag the further down the rabbit hole you go, which can cause multiple instances of images opening—which each have to be individually closed. If comment threads are long, the furthest down posts do not load. The concept and design are both fantastic, but it needs work.

Excellent

If this app had full-size cards like narwhal or the official app and you could enable auto play of stuff like gifs, it would be my default app hands down. Easily the most attractive reddit app I have used. For me, the way the comments work is perfect. Not only do I get the ‘bubble burst’ thing going, but it seems to cut down on a little of the rabbit hole-esque memery that the comments always revolve into after one or 2 levels of comments.

Looks great, but...

First things first, this app looks amazing. The UI matches Apple’s look seamlessly. The font, colors, and edges/curves have that beautiful apple aesthetic. There are a few complaints here though. 1. Force touch is pretty buggy. 2. Videos, GIFs, and even pictures load much slower than something like Apollo or even the official Reddit app. 3. The app needs to allow us to save pictures via long press. 4. The app needs the ability to change what browser links and videos open in, say like Chrome and the YouTube app. 5. The app needs a way to quickly change the night and dark themes like the Apollo app has “quick change” 6. There needs to be a feature for multiple accounts. 7. Just another thought, but the app icon is not very distinguishable as Reddit, or a Reddit app. Maybe something as simple a the Reddit alien on the top of the blue rings would suffice to help this app noticeably be “Reddit” Honestly I think the developers need to look at their main competitor, Apollo, and try to implement several of the intuitive features there into their app and it would be perfect. I will still use this over Apollo, because I find the bubble system for comments a much easier way to follow the conversation, and because the overall app UI and theme matches the Apple UI to a dime.

Good, but needs more options

This app is beautiful. I love the UI in every way. But I have a couple complaints. I want to turn off the repost merging functionality as well as add what sub the post is from in the feed. If those two things were added, this would be my 100% daily reddit driver.

Sleek and intuitive reddit app

Really satisfied with Burst. Would be even better with cards that fit the height of the image instead of a fixed height.

Awesome app, but two problems :(

Brentreel

I love this app. It’s buttery smooth, smartly designed, and most of all it lets me take a short dip into comments without getting lost in all of reddit. It’s definitely my favorite reddit app by far! But about a year ago I stopped using it because of two problems. And unfortunately they still exist. 1: sometimes when trying to swipe down to exit a preview, it just. Doesn’t? The image just bounces back up and you have to use the “x” button instead. Not a huge deal, but it does break the flow that makes this app so awesome. 2: and then here’s the deal breaker. About half the posts that are gifs are in horrible quality. You can see the preview which looks decent, and you can open the post in other reddit apps and have the quality you expect. But when you open it through Burst you would swear you just opened a 240p YouTube video (sometimes worse) That alone is the reason I can’t keep using this app. If it was just a low quality post that would be one thing, but when multiple other reddit apps show it in perfect quality, it’s a whole other issue. So for now I’ll be switching back to the official reddit app. But I’ll be keeping an eye on Burst in hopes of some fixes rolling out! Easy 5 star if that happens!

Beautifully simple and smooth but...

The Ui is so smooth and simple and looks so good however some thing I wish the app had are: 1) the option to toggle auto play for videos and gifs so you don’t have to click a post to watch the video or get redirected to an external site, 2) subreddit heading so I know what subreddit the post is from at a glance. 3) full image cards, again so you can just scroll through content. 4) hide read posts on scroll. Other than that, this client has so much potential. Update: several months later. It seems development has stopped.
