Not Ready For Prime Time

I had high hopes for this app. It's been promised and we were all waiting for it to come out. I guess we should have waited a bit longer. I find the app clunky and far from easy to use. No way to delete a saved location. No way to keep notes on a brewery or beers. No way to share with other homebrewers. Hopefully we will see an update very soon that allows for much easier use and much more capability. It's just not worthwhile for deals listing.

There is NO NEED for this app to track location all of the time. Please change this to "ONLY WHEN USING THE APP". Put your helmet on and get in the game.

1. Location services always on? No. 2. Can't search for anything. 3. What there is available is clunky. 4. As an AHA member, I was looking forward to thing being able to navigate members only material, such as conference seminars. None of those things are available. I really hope you make the next version something worth having.

If you get Zymurgy Magazine or have the Zymurgy App, you have the content of this app already. This isn't to take away from the quality of the content in the app, it's just that the content is nothing new. The UI is a step up from the Zymurgy app in that it doesn't just link back to articles on the website. My opinion is that they are on the right track with this, but it's not quite there yet. The Tuesday trivia quiz is a cool concept but it's just link back to the website which doesn't really format correctly for the app. It should be its own section of the app, where you can easily see past quizzes, keep progress, etc... Going back and trying to find something you didn't add to your "collection" is tough to find. The web store is a link back to a different website which makes wonder why do I want to share personal information with a third party website. I know that many sites use third parties to handle commerce but I think there could be better integration. I'm not an app expert, just a user, and this my opinion.

The map is absolutely incredible! I've never used anything like it. The content is well curated and having a digital membership card that also tells you the discount at the establishment is super convenient. I haven't experienced any of the battery issues or data issues others have mentioned. The app didn't even show up in my top 10 apps that use battery so not sure where it's coming from. Awesome and beautiful app!!

The map of breweries, homebrew shops and beer bars is awesome. I use it all the time, but it's particularly useful when traveling. Push notifications for AHA Member Deals ensures I will never miss a deal again and the digital member card means I don't have to worry if I left my card at home. Plus I've got a ton of reading material on my favorite subject, beer, right in there in the app. Thanks AHA!

I dig knowing when I'm near a Member Deal and also being able to search for deals easily. And always having my AHA member card with me, since I always have my phone with me, is great.

Brew Guru is a really useful app for homebrewers and non-homebrewing beer lovers. It has the best brewery locator I’ve seen and tons of awesome content to help you become a better brewer. Simple design and easy to use. If beer is your thing, I highly recommend this app.
