Great looking game but online is non-existent.

Pro:I have played the game in person. I have really enjoyed it. However, we always get some rules wrong. This app has been great. It has helped clarify some rules we got wrong. And the AI is really good. You have to know what you are doing to get 1st in 3rd player mode. Con: there is no online version of this game. There is an endless list of games that have been “created.” However, they all are not filled. And the ones that are say “waiting for players.” I have owned the app for a couple weeks and impossible to play online. It is sad. Makes the game fun for a couple weeks then it will get boring. Do not buy if you want an online experience. If you want to use the app as a tutorial the go ahead and buy it.

Quite Great and Fun Thinking Brain Game

Very nice smart game. Play a couple rounds experimenting to actually figure out how the game works before trying to memorize rules! But also do the tutorial first.

Solid Adaptation

Octopodes Mench

It’s a real solid version of the classic Wallace board game. The interface is clear and it’s easy to follow what’s going on. The A.I. Is mostly competent and doesn’t make a lot of moves that leave you scratching your head. Only drawback is it takes a while to figure out all the rules if this is your first introduction to Brass. There’s no avoiding it as it’s the nature of the source material. They do an ok job with the tutorial; once you understand all the complex mechanics and the strategic impact of your choices it’s quite engaging.

some game crashing bugs but a good way to learn the classic

grimoire_games

To those not primed in hobby board gaming this game will be bewildering. Helps to watch the actual board game being played on youtube as the tutorial doesn’t really tutor and the road to advancement is rather unique and counter-intuitive,but once you get it it becomes a heavy brain game. Lots of analysis paralysis , so I could not imagine playing this with other people on a little phone but a tablet might be ok. Some bugs crashed my game such as phantom cotton selling option for cotton that has already been sold. This game is also the largest game app I own and I’m not sure why?

Needs bug fixes, interactive tutorial, “quality of life” features

grimoire_games

This might be a great app for those who have been playing Brass for awhile. I don’t blame the devs for the tutorial as most human beings currently living can not make any sense of the rulebook, but it’s supposed to be a “Martin Wallace classic “ and a great game, so I’ve been trying to learn it on the app before playing elsewhere or buying the board. There’s no undo that I can see. Is this sadism? If one taps outside the build box for a 2nd development, for instance, well, there goes that crucial move in a game where every tiny move counts for everything. The tutorial barely explains how anything works. There’s no reason to have new players stumbling through the dark. “Coal helps buildings” is not helpful to understanding the unique economic mechanisms in this game. I’ve spent a few hours gleaning things on Bgg, expert faqs, bullet pointed advice, all seems unnecessary and a huge detraction from a tool that could bring new people into an infamously difficult to penetrate game, unless you are a weathered 18xx grognard. oh well

Your actions were not submitted to the server error

This looks like a fun Game and I’d love to leave a good review but I can never get the game to work. Every time I do might turn it says cannot connect to the server. I have tried changing my connection to Wi-Fi or cellular dataI have tried reinstalling the app but nothing seems to work.

What?

I love Ticket to Ride and similar. I don't see the allure here though. The tutorials were magnificently boring.

Great game but...

sgreasby

Looses one star for poor tutorial and one more star because an undo is desperately needed. I frequently make my second action dependent on the first and sometimes discover that the second action will not work out as planned, effectively wasting the first action and effectively the entire turn.

Nearly perfect

I like Brass and used this to determine if I should buy the board game. Great tutorial and wonderful interface. Solid recommendation. Had to back the KS a while back because of this app. Fantastic implementation of the game.

Please fix the online play

mpollockrph

This would be a 5 star if they would fix the horrible “scroll to the bottom to join your game” method for online play. Should t my Game Center identity help wither his connection?
