Great app

Photos no longer work

Been using for years but new iPhone photo format doesn’t convert to png when uploaded to box. Fix that and add ability to back up iPhone photos would make it a 5 Star app.

Gradually Changing For The Worse

America's App Advisor

I’ve been an iPhone owner since the first day the original iPhone was released for sale in the United States and I’ve used the Box application as long as it is been in existence. In addition to Box, I also use several other cloud servers including Microsoft OneDrive, Google Drive, Dropbox, iCloud Files and 4shared. Box was normally a pretty solid App - it performed as stated in the description and I experienced no issues of great importance. But then things began to change, if I had to estimate, I would say it started around the end of the Summer of 2017. The first issue I had; upon updating the app I discovered ALL my files had disappeared from my device. Obviously, this is unusual for a cloud server and one which I had never experienced before. So I took it in stride and was able to restore everything using my Notebook-PC. The second issue occurred during the very next app update. And it was the exact same thing repeated. This time I didn’t take it in stride ... I was angry and I contacted Box Support. After telling them of the issue I received an auto-email reply stating they had received my message and would get back to me. I didn’t hear back for 10 more days, so it kind of slipped my mind. Then the support person who contacted me had a rather flippant attitude and acted as if it were no big deal because I was able to recover everything. After You’ve had to deal with something like this, ‘all‘s well that ends well’ is not something you want to hear. I tried to impress upon him this wasn’t an issue to be taken lightly because it was time consuming and a major pain in the neck. I don’t think he ever really caught on to the idea that some of us have to manage our time with as much vigilance as we manage our finances. Once I recovered everything? I relocated everything to my other (reliable) cloud servers. I now store files I consider expendable on Box. NOT RECOMMENDED

Total dealbreaker, until they fix this > uninstall.

Would rate higher if it worked

Just started using this app on my iPad Pro and tried to open my first file - crashed and had to log back in. Then another - crashed - had to log back in. Then another - crashed and had to log back in. I can open some PDFs but Excel and Word docs have both crashed. Guess what type of docs we use the most? Very disappointed.
