No sound on videos with iPhone 7

PHattie888

The app does not play sound from the videos to my iPhone 7's speaker. It does play sound using headphones. Overall the app is okay, and helps get you started with the features of the car (X1 2016 in my case), which otherwise can take a lot of time to figure out.

Just Awful

There are very few videos, even though topics indicate you will be viewing one. The screens are too big for the iOS device. The layout is amateurish. I would expect something like this from Cadillac.

Useful for new owners

Jimmy the Froggie

This is a great way to get familiar with BMWs iDrive and other features

Unusable

SDavisS000

I was excited to find an app that had how to videos as I am a new BMW owner. Unfortunately, many of the videos don't play, the app is unstable and in general it's unusable.

Bad

App doesn't even fit the screen. Useless and embarrassing for BMW.

Poor software

mitcoyote

First off, they don't tell you that this only works even close to properly in portrait mode. In landscape, you can only use the first four options--out of maybe a dozen or more. It freezes after looking at any available information. And if you start something in landscape, you can't rotate to portrait. Apart from reading the specs, everything is video. While the videos themselves are OK--well written, clearly spoken--they only give a taste of what they start to explain, and then refer you to the manual. Some features apply to my M3, others to other models, even though I have to let the app know which car I'm driving. Overall, the software design is poor, superficial, and difficult to use. This could be far better, and it ought to be.

Really? Cup holder videos?

Monkeysocks

This app required me to sign in and saved my vehicle, but then gave me instructional videos for all different models. I would imagine that some of the videos might be useful, but the in-depth information only extends to things like the Door Bottle Holders. Really. There is an entire video on how to use the cupholder (oops, sorry, *bottle* holder) in the side pocket of (you guessed it!) the door. Meanwhile, I still don't know how to have my BMW read or display text messages.

Really bad.

uh…clem

The layout engine is horrible. On standard iPad in landscape aspect mode, buttons and text are partially off screen. Panels can only be made visible by 'pulling' them up or down and holding them; if you let go, they snap back. Some sections (e.g., genius hints) are simply blank since the content is entirely off-screen. Was this software tested?

Good cars, crap software

JRS43

This app is “true to form”. Offers very little information other than most basic, poorly designed, with too many bugs. No doubt BMW employs many excellent mechanical engineers, but for electronic design and software they are scrapping the bottom of the barrel.

Great App but needs 1 important thing!

Te Durak

As a client advisor this app is very useful but it’s missing one key option! Please add the ability to save or send the vehicle specs as a pdf file so we can share the info with our clients through email or text. This would not only help get the important info to clients a lot quicker but it will also be a more professional format than sending screenshots of the info that the client is requesting. I hope to see this as option added to the app soon!
