Used only once during our Vancouver vacation - worked great!

During our June 2015 visit to Vancouver, we needed a ride to the airport our day of departure. Vancouver has a great public transport infrastructure but hauling a large suitcase on a bus or train isn't easy. So I installed the Black Top taxi app, hailed a cab, and within minutes was notified a cab was on its way. It showed the cab number and relative location on a map. It arrived in five minutes. Couldn't ask for a better way to hail a cab. Highly recommended. Yelp had some bad reviews but we had a great experience which may be related to your pickup location. The app will also estimate the fare. It was accurate within a $1.20 for us.
Worked fine for airport pickup going to YVR

I downloaded and use this fine to book a cab the day before my return flight from Vancouver. The driver arrived right on time (4AM!) and the app notified me prior to arrival. The booking was fine. However the app got a little flaky once the booking was activated just prior to the arrival. The app got VERY slow (like 8 seconds response time) but it all worked out fine.
Can't even enter the pick up location

After a long wait at the phone call, I decided to download this app. However I couldn't even enter pick up location, I tried to enter the location manually or pin the location on map, but the results are the same. This app shouldn't even exist in App Store, cos it ain't working. I wouldn't take the cab of this company anymore, piece of crap. From a frustrated user, just deleted the app, waste of data usage.

I’ve given this app several shots while here in town for a conference. I’ve used Lyft and Uber quite a bit in the US, so I’m rating based on their apps, and even some city transit apps. It’s such a pain to enter addresses. It never recognizes the address, and won’t let me enter it manual. I usually have to use the map search and I have to cross reference on Google Maps and/or Yelp. It takes entirely too much effort and time to set up a pickup, then you’re spent waiting for their system to find you a driver. Lyft and Uber can do all this in about 90 seconds or less most of the time. Slow GPS updates too. Was pretty excited to find an alternative to void of Lyft and Uber, but sadly, it’s awful. No real issues with the rides themselves other than getting it going.

I was hesitant to try this app since it doesn’t look like it gets many updates but I decided to try it anyways due to a good review from a year ago. It’s all you want from an app like this. I punched in the destination and got a cab within a few minutes. It’s no rideshare app, but it’ll do!

This is just more proof that the taxi industry as we know it is DEAD! Cash only? Way to eliminate another business traveler. What other customer service based business model has poor service and ease of use and still continues to operate. Fail to adapt or go out of business.

I almost stopped at the long disclaimer about how this doesn’t actually mean you’ll get a cab. But I pressed on to the next screen wanting my account info, which was red type on a medium-grey background. Forget it, I’ll keep waiting on hold for 20 more minutes. I’m no fan of Uber, but it’s no wonder they’ve taken over.
