Do NOT buy to create your own tests

I suppose if you are looking for pre selected lists this may be helpful. Or if the only words you need to study are basic K-2 This is the only way I can imagine the amount of positive reviews it has received. Trying to study for your spelling list at school or creat your own is a disaster of time suckage. In theory, to add words specific to you or your child, add a picture, add a description and have a test plus games would be amazing! In reality you will add words, pictures and boards just to find that they disappear. I have spent hours trying to create lists only to have them revert back to empty or the default (bizarre) picture. The app crashes every 15 min or so and locks up periodically. Trust me I have tried everything! Like I said, if it worked it would be great! Unfortunately the program is just not there. This goes for all Bitsboard apps, I have tried several in past years, upgraded to PRO several times to no avail. Don’t do what my family did, we wasted many hours and money. Tried again this week (2/2/20) to set up a board, spent at least 2 hrs, only to have the board disappear then reappear with half the words and back to the “default” pictures. Also on several games the audio does not work.

Great, will give 5⭐️ if..(UPDATED)

I have Bitsboard Pro but I’m thinking of purchasing the $20 full app from the App store so that the full versions can be used on my kids devices as well. For me to do that what I would really like to see is the option in the app to arrange games as needed so that my child can follow a set pattern of one game after another (example, Review, then Flashcards, then True/False and so on) so that it’s a progression that makes sense to learning the material. Other than that we love this app. ***UPDATE*** With the new takeover by happymooseapps my request has been fulfilled and they seem to be on top of addressing concerns so am giving 5*. There are still improvements that could be made and I hope they will! Worth the monthly 99c subscription to pro. ***3/10/2020*** Why can’t the developers get the tracing game corrected. Known issue been going on for ages where the tracing doesn’t line up with the letters and is in general buggy/laggy/freezes just with this one activity.

I love this app and it’s potential

What an amazing educational tool. Not only does it give you the ability to upload and make your own great lists, it gives You access to a multitude of lists already made. A favorite must have tool for parents and educators (I am a speech-language pathologist). I have used this app for 8 years, since the days of only a few games. I believe this app has a lot of potential, but feel like using it to its full capacity is not completely easy.... yet. I think there needs to be tutorials on how exactly to organize your super user and student lists, quickly add targets to students lists, and personalize for each. You could better understand this with directions, or video instructions on YouTube. Lastly, the server used is very slow. Unfortunately, I set up my original lists inaccurately and am now trying to transfer my key lists to the super user account. This process is taking soooooo long. I need to upload to Dropbox and then download to my super user from drop box. This takes minutes to transfer just one board and sometimes crashes. I truly love this app, and feel like it has so much potential to be customized and keep data but needs those 2 things to get my 5 stars. Keep at it! You developers are getting close!

AMAZING …but…

Not so wise?

Seriously this app is incredible - almost endless possibilities to teach a wide variety of material in a wide variety of ways - in particular if you are willing to create your own boards. I have used very extensively homeschooling a child with special needs - and it has been an invaluable resource. My teen daughter creates her own boards to study spanish and science! We have dealt with many bugs over the years that have caused much frustration and the catalog of photos includes a ridiculous amount of provocatively dressed women so nearly all boards with women have to be reviewed and sometimes edited by me which is not only annoying - but just plain puzzling. Can’t imagine my life without Bitsboard - but there is room for improvement! I’d like to suggest some new voice choices - after years of use- it would be a nice change. Also, the fact that board edits can only be made while in the board creator “game” is a pain - the old way was much better!! I’d also like to suggest the addition of an auditory memory game that provides for a delay before displaying the image/word after it is spoken - and an option in settings to at least slightly alter the voice “speed’’ to allow for individuals with auditory processing challenges to hear sentences spoken at a slower pace.

Clunky interface and terrible paywall

I enjoyed using Bitsboard in the past however it a cumbersome process to add boards and the video tutorials aren’t the best. Also, the free version only limits you to creating a board in your device and there is no way to share it with kids/families unless you pay for the app

Good

The best, but is there a way to put a password on my account?

This app is amazing! I’m still figuring it out and there are a few things I’d like to see changed, but as other users have said, endless opportunities for learning!

I love this app! I appreciate the time they put into to making a fun and engaging platform for students and teachers. It makes planning for sessions easy and fun. I’ve been looking for a platform to allow me to make interactive games like this, but have been spending/wasting time. This app is spot on everything I need. I also appreciate how accommodating customer service is and will be recommending this app to my fellow SLPs out there. 11/10 for me!!!!?

GREAT educational and fun app

I homeschool my son who has special needs, and there are SO many ways to use this app. There are countless boards and classes already set up, but if you want to create your own it easy to do. If your child has a communication device because their nonverbal, you can use this to help teach the icons for words. I also homeschool my daughter who is atypical and this is very helpful with some aspects of her homeschooling. This is one of the best educational apps I’ve found for children with special needs. Kids with autism will also love the photo focus of this app.
