Have you ever wondered what type of bird that was on your way to work? Now you can!
Bird Identification by Color allows you to identify birds based on color. Find out what kind of bird you saw today:
- Inspire your friends -- make them think you are an ornithologist!
- Identify birds based on color, taxonomy, location, region, or manually search for a specific bird
- Listen to updated podcasts for unique bird songs/sounds
- Like the Facebook page, Birds: Beautiful birds from all over the world!
I am an ornithology major, so this is quite awesome for identifying birds.
Don't waste your money. There are much better bird identification apps, like Merlin Bird ID.
You can either click on a color of bird (ex. "brown") and it shows you a list of birds in your area of that color (names only, no pictures without clicking). Or you can use the Audubon search within the app. All functionality on this all can be replaced by a few links in a browser.
Locks up a lot. You need to click on a list of birds to see a picture and when you want to go back to the list to find a picture of another bird the app locks up.
This app is neat and will be better when I figure how to change pages easily. My favorite bird is the Painted Bunting. I saw one in South Texas once.
