"It’s a cross between a fitness journal and a beer discovery app." -- Draft Magazine
"Beer Burner calculates your level of activity and tells you how many beers you’ve earned. And not just any old beer. It’s specific." -- The Herald of Everett, Washington
"There are few things more satisfying than a long run, ski day or bike ride followed by a cold one with buddies. And thankfully...wait for it...there's now an app for that!" -- bloodsweatandcheers.com
Beer Burner is the perfect post-run companion app for your running and exercise tracking apps. It uses Apple Health to get your calorie burn data from today and references its own database of 1,000's of craft beers from all over the world to calculate the beers you've earned.
Beer Burner can also be used by itself. Just select your activity and duration and Beer Burner will calculate your calorie burn and display how many beers you've earned.
Regale your friends with the beers you've earned you on Facebook and Twitter!
Each beer type is displayed beautifully along with a detailed description from the brewery. For each beer displayed, Beer Burner displays a number of 12-oz bottles representing your calorie burn.
How does it work?
After you finish your workout, ride, run, swim, or ski, select your activity and duration on Beer Burner's main view, or alternatively, if you're using any of the many popular exercise apps (Strava, Runkeeper and many more) that work with Health for iOS, you can directly use that data in Beer Burner.
You'll be presented with a list of beer styles (American style IPA, Irish Porter, etc.) and a count of the average number of beers within that style you've earned.
Beer Burner uses the always-up-to-date beer and brewery data from BreweryDB. There are thousands of beers in its database!
Selecting a beer will bring up a detail view with information from the brewer about that specific beer.
Beer Burner isn't just a fun exercise-related beer app. It's also a great beer discovery app!
I love this idea. If you could add a search function, the app would be perfect!
More than just a beer calorie app, it has great detail about all the many included beers. Nicely done!
You enter in the exercise you've done and it tells you what kind of beer you can have for those calories. You can't, say, pick the beer first and see how long you'd have to exercise, or search by calorie range, or style, or brewery first. Coulda been awesome with all this data available, but instead is just meh functionality.
