This website/app used to be a valuable resource for the skincare conscious. It is now just a native marketing gig for Paula’s Choice and the reviews cannot be relied upon. I bought PC products because I thought what they were doing before was great. Unbiased reviews and real advice for skincare - this is no longer that kind of resource.

The Beautypedia can be an excellent source for some good info on efficacy and warnings on the thousands of beauty products people comb through. However, there is a high degree of inconsistencies (a very bad rating for an item with a small amount of fragrance; a perfect rating for something with “a small amount of fragrance that won’t be harmful”), bias (giving every Paula’s Choice product a perfect rating), and disorganization (its maddening that reviews aren’t dated). Also frustrating is that even in the “new reviews” section where dates do appear, the same item/review is listed multiple times, with different dates! It doesn’t make sense. Finally, new content is extremely slow to publication. It’s as if it’s a side thought, and not an often utilized offshoot of a successful company.

The app won’t keep me logged in, and won’t accept any changes to favorites, making it virtually useless as a shopping tool.

“Favorites “ option doesn’t work. Just a constant pink circle chasing its tail. I must quit the program and only use the listed menus. Still, a BIG improvement in the site ....... R. Farrar

I use this app every time I want the dirt on any product I’m considering purchasing. I rely on their feedback, and I love the information that I get. My issues are it’s not current enough, nor does the iPhone app save my “favorites” when I select them. I was disappointed but will continue to use their App as I still value what they have to say.

Been using Paula’s reviews for years!!! I used to highlight through her books and have always used her recommendations. I’ve had great luck. Only recently have I tried her products, I have no idea why it took me so long. I love her products! And the reviews that say rating your own products is biased are just stupid. Of course your going to rate your stuff excellent, would anyone sell a product they don’t believe in!?! It’s not like she’s hiding that it’s her company! Jeeze. The app is glitchy though unfortunately. Wish it worked better.

My favorites cannot be sorted or filtered. A shopping list would be really nice.

This website has really helped me look better by steering me towards products that don’t irritate my skin. The bar code scanner never works. The reviews can be inconsistent. I like the customer feedback, but I wish it gave the feedback averages for each product. I use this app daily—I’m obsessed.
