Pads don't always work

pjo17

To be honest I enjoy this app very much, but it is limited by one extremely annoying bug, which is when you load the sample onto a pad. For my iPod it works fine, but for my iPad the pads are inaffective 90% of the time. If you could fix this i would be thrilled.

Ingrates.

Hate to sound like an old man here but I remember getting a mixer that had a four-second loop sampler built in and layering samples to tape until they sounded like crap just to try to make a beat. Eventually, after a year and a half of saving up about $2,400, I got an ASR-10. Now, with an iPhone or iPod (under $300) you can chop samples and make beats with an app that costs less than twenty records from the dollar bin. I've never had one problem with this app and it's only crashed when I've pushed it really hard doing things that even the ASR can't handle. They released a second version and it's a totally different animal. This app is basically a drum machine sampler and 2 is a workstation. Why would the developers go to all the trouble to make a keyboard function and effect racks just to offer it up for free? It's a NEW APP!!! Think of it as a keyboard sampler workstation with the original Beatmaker added on as a bonus. Intua deserves credit for even making the original Beatmaker as intuitive and powerful as any hardware sampler that I've ever used. It's a shame that so many people bash this app because they think they deserve more than a twenty dollar app that allows them to do what would be impossible even ten years ago. I can't speak for iPad users but this app has been extraordinarily reliable on two generations of iPhone (3G/4). If you are an aspiring beat maker and don't have an inflated sense of entitlement then I would say this app is a great place to start if you can't afford 2. If your Mommy and Daddy give you a $50 dollar iTunes gift card and you are even momentarily torn between this app and the new Lil Wayne masterpiece then maybe you should save their money for a remote fart app and leave this one alone.

please fixx

Rigodosqui

it frost my ipod touch , no updates the app is not working , too much money for a app that does not work !!!

Does not work Poor sample kits, not GM, loops don't stretch

Porchglider

Does not work... Waste of money This app would be usable if there were some decent sample kits ! There should be some decent general midi mapped drumkits without those awfull loops that are locked to a specific bpm . Loops are lame.... It should be "one hit" percussion samples only. In fact they should be velocity mapped multisamples on each pad I'd like to see a drumkit view for pads that looks like a top view of a drum kit. Then the kick drum should map to where a kick drum would be in general midi and the snare, tom etc etc...... I'm sure all those peeps who gave 5stars got bored with this app soon afterwards. I'll change my rating when this app improves. Good luck I appreciate the idea behind this .

love it

Created another app. Look, you could have just made the second version into this app. You're gouging, not Apple, but Intua. You should know that you have loyal fans of this app, but, you decided not to make this app, which is SOFTWARE, completely killer...that's not cool.

Lame

Kitten Brains

Should make BM 2 an upgrade

Ugh

I can't believe this junk is still in the app store. Im onemofmthe dummies that paid $20 only to have them release an entirely new app and attempt to extort another $20. Did not upgrade, got nanostudio instead.

Great app.

I have one request. I would like to hear what I am recording played back when I am recording a sample from another source.
