They really didn’t need to go so hard with this game, but this game is KILLING IT! The music gives me real maple story vibes, and the mechanics are amazing. The animation is smooth and fun to look at, and the plot is funny as well easy to follow. This is a game I’m willing to pay ?? for because you can tell the developers really put everything into it. 11/10!

Hello there. To start, this is a solid beat ‘em up. It simulates the style of an arcade, with looks and sounds kind of resembling original games with Lucky Cat’s style and art. Although monotonous to an extent, there’s at least variety in stages, characters and objects that you can get through chests and even in the stages. The rewards are fairly simple and sometimes easy to get at times. I will admit, though, that I just played through level 25, but I’m making this review for the sudden greed that came from the latest update (as of this publication) You see, there are 3 daily missions that you can do to earn more gems or coins. They range from running a certain distance to make a combo with this many hits. On the latest update, however, they added a mission in which it requires to WATCH 5 videos. Yes, 5. In addition, I believe that those kinds of missions are showing up more often. They’ve appeared more than any other mission yet (in my case) along with sending a message to 5 friends about the game (shameless promotion, and this is also a mission. How?!) To conclude, I love Lucky Cat for being a cool company that has a very consistent art style with good games along with them, but I don’t want them to turn into full greed like many companies who just want money from either the players or ads. I understand that it’s a free game, but making those kinds of missions to earn them some pocket change won’t do good to both the game and the players.

The game has progressed a little from the ridiculous pay wall, that was implemented in the beginning. Nonetheless there are still some “issues” that can be addressed. For one, the energy cap set at 20. It would be a very good idea if the cap can be increased by like 5 with the purchase of gems. Reasonably ranging from 200-300, considering the speed of which it takes to grind for gems. It would also help if the matchmaking for co op could be balanced a bit. It becomes troublesome when you join a lvl 60 urs with a lvl 7 lee. The enemy is set towards the higher players. It takes away part of the fun when you get one shot by a random butch punch. Other than those aspects, the game has come a long way and is enticing enough to continue playing. P.s ad frequency can be toned down eventually, although it is obvious that for know it provides revenue for the game while it’s still young.

I love the 8 bit style. This game reminds me a lot of Scott pilgrim vs the world game which is a plus! The combat is great and the controls are easy to understand
