It's a pretty good app

Don't have much to say except that it gives me the news, and sometimes with pictures or video. One problem I've noticed is, while reading a news article, having tapped on a picture to see it and other pictures of the same article in a slide show, when I go back to the article text and picture get intermingled so much so that pictures cover the text. This problem is intermittent. The solution I've found is to go back one level higher and come back to the article. Another problem is, some commercials that are shown before a video are extremely loud. They don't have to be so loud. We can hear! These costed the app one star in this review. I would've taken another star but I haven't noticed any other problem, and the app works. So I couldn't.
Good app. Great news source.

The BBC is one of less than a dozen world-class news sources (unbiased, internationally-focused). And the app makes it easy to read.

I appreciate the in depth reporting and the magazine articles. it keeps me up to date with what is going on in the world. The layout took some getting use to. I use to read the news on my iPad which was very good. But the layout for the app for the iPhone and iPod was a little weird. But I think I got the hang of it. I do sometimes see the same report and it doesn't seem to refresh like it does on my iPad. But other than that I have no complaints. Its definitely my go to app for news.
Old version much better

The layout of the old version was much better. It loaded faster and I could see all the news right away. Please bring it back.

The forced scrolling mentioned by other reviewers is certainly an issue with the iOS version, but you are still left with the exemplary reporting for which the BBC is justly famous, and one of the few news apps that admits to and reports on the vast swathe of sentient life *outside the USA's borders.

When I want to get up to date on what is going on in the world I go to BBC. IMO BBC provides excellent coverage on the news, concise, to the point, and thorough.

They have their biases like any other group, but being American it makes it easier to spot them in relation to their own culture and they're Very good at reporting on American culture in a relatively unbiased manner (or if they are biased they make it apparent so that you can look past it). Great news group
