Solid,fun game

A very well done backgammon game. Inevitably, it sometimes feels like the game cheats. But I’ve had enough ridiculous. Ome-from-behind wins that I’m convinced it all evens out.

Anyone else notice how often you roll a 6+6 after being hit at beginning of the game? Happens ALL the time (way more than 1/36) and almost never to the computer The game plays fast with good action.

I play on hard. Every time the computer doubles and you accept it rolls doubles. It gets off the bar with only 1 spot open easily, almost never being locked out for more than a turn or two. If it’s going to be gammoned it rolls as many doubles in a row that it needs to avoid it.

The developer claims the rolls are completely random but that is laughable. I’ve never seen so many lucky rolls, computer always gets exactly the number it needs.

Great for practice, but so dishonest that is hurts

Whatever posts you’ll read, this is by far the best backgammon app by far to practice your skills. However, and that comes with the package, don’t expect to get a fair fighting chance in Expert mode. The rolls are rigged, yes, and actually designed to keep you up on your toes for the worst possible outcome. You will face a ridiculous amount of 7 rolls and doubles. Just think of it as tough practice. If you play the computer on manual rolls in Expert Mode, you will see the difference. The computer obviously can’t look at the upcoming rolls nor can it count on rolling 7 or high doubles. You will notice how less aggressive the computer attacks and how timidly it plays the doubling cube. The only problem with this app is the dishonesty of its developers. Their so-called AI in Expert mode is a fraud. If they would call it “Worst case” you’d at least have a sense of what you’re up against. Which is a shame because this is by far the smoothest and most addictive backgammon app on the market. Why not throw the players a bone and reduce the rage, and the number of times this app has been deleted and reloaded again? Oliver

Incredible rolls

The game consistently gets incredible rolls. And I consistently don't. There's no way to assess winning rolls based on simple roll stats. The program consistently gets good rolls. And I don't. Update: After thousands of games, I hold the same opinion: the game simply gets consistently good rolls and I don't. I can't even recall the last time I had a run of good luck, winning a few games in a row, being down and getting several good rolls to surge ahead. Update two: It just happens game after game. The developer can say what they want to. This program is "luckier" than any human being. Update three: Just because the developer continues to post replies and ignore the experience of hundreds of experienced backgammon players does not mean the experience of these players is not true. PLEASE STOP REPLYING TO ME Update four: Amazing. Ask a developer to leave you alone and they just keep replying. Do they really think this endears future buyers of their app? Just send me info on how to get my money back and we can end this discussion. I'll delete it and we'll all be happy. UPDATE FIVE: Thanks for the info on refunds. I'll be contacting Apple. They may not give me a refund because I've had the app for so long. You guys can still give me a refund if Apple refuses. Now I mainly want the refund because you're just a jerk. And that's what I'm telling Apple support. UPDATE SIX: One of my favorite things to notice is how often the game gets doubles as soon as it turns into a pure race....

Years in.... (Update) and a few more years in and an am still happy

Patience pays off. After playing this game for years it was finally updated to include game analysis. It shows a list of all the moves in a game and the error level. Customer support has been great. The game interface has improved a lot in the years since I first got this. I love the analysis list. I do have a request? Can you add a 2 ply mode? I think phones are fast enough now. I have been playing another 2 ply game and I like this interface much better. Don't let the players who are still learning to play and accuse the game of cheating keep you from improving the AI.
