Mmm?

Sometimes inseveral games the dice seem extremely convinient. Also, cant switch apps without a game restarting. Other than that I really enjoy it.

Question random opponents

TomSwov

When I had a score above 1400 I sensed I was playing real opponents... having gone through a loosing streak I fell below 1400 and would suddenly get players score as low as 1100 ... I find that the strategy and level of play of the low score players is vastly superior to their rank ... leading me to think I am not playing a person but instead against AI ... it almost seems I can play better against the AI than I can against a person with a score of 1100

Totally Rigged

geoffreybear

I’ve been playing this app for weeks. What virtually all others have said in their reviews is true. Game is rigged to give the computer opponent the rolls it needs when it needs them just about every single time. As others have pointed out, you just need to think about it. How can the game have difficulty levels without cheating? And that means cheating to let you win more often when it is set to easy, and just the opposite when set it to the most difficult level. For a game to be true, it can have only one setting, and that is to always play it’s very best, just like a real life opponent would do. Naturally the developer would deny this, and probably is behind any positive views. Unfortunately, this is one of the best looking and functional backgammon apps available....all except with how the difficulty level setting makes it obvious it is not a game you can trust to always generate random rolls....and will usually roll them in the computer opponent’s favor when set at the most difficult level.

Biased rolls

amdnyc

I agree with the other posters here. The rolls are biased toward the AI. Using doubles as a baseline over 5000 rolls the number of doubles the AI received was 3x that of the player. This is so statistically rare as to be blatantly obvious. Use another game.

Dice cheat

Sherri14

Even an the easiest level the dice always roll in favor of the iPhone. If I could roll doubles this often I would be living in Vegas. Also 90% if the time if you have an single piece the game will always roll what is needed to put you up on the middle of the board. Game cheats for sure! It is a frustrating game in the first place but even more so when the game doesn't give the player a far chance.

Disgruntled Game Developers

GTPLBM

Good game except the dice rolls will ultimately %€¥& in almost every game when playing another opponent. When you play the computer it's about the same. #frustrateddevelopers.

Read reviews

No money from me

I agree with most of the reviews written. I read the reviews and downloaded anyway. The comments from the developer wants you to believe that everything is on the up and up. I have played this game for about a week watching the rolls. If it is truly random as the developers say, you should get about as many double as the computer. Not so. From my experience, i get double about once every other game, the computer rolls doubles several times a game. I leave a single token out, and the computer rolls the needed number to send it back. The computer leaves single tokens throughout the game and I very seldom get the number needed to send it back. The graphics are good, but the game leaves you feeling like you have been taken advantage. There are too many other backgammon game apps to try. I recommend leaving this one alone. By the way, as a note to the developer, do not bother responding to this message. It will only be another copy and paste response that are on so many other reviews.

Program Flaw?

MarkWest86

Sometimes valid moves are not allowed. Is this a flaw in the program? Obviously the computer rolls are not random. I think the point is to try to keep you on your feet. It’s just for practice.
